do these compare to the tanks that target used to sell

We don't have Target in Vermont. BUT, I can tell you they compare to the 'tami' tank that old navy sold! Very soft, straps stay put, very stretchy. Thinner fabric but great for doubling/layering.

What is the length for a size large? i have bought three tanks already and when i got them they were way too short.

I am 5"1 and they hit me about the top of my jeans

Do the tanks have any “shaping control”?

Well, I'd say the best way to answer this is that they are pretty sheer and lightweight. But, i'm 5'2", 145, purchased the medium and they are nicely fitted, comfy and have as much 'shaping control' as a thin tank can. I love them! They remind me of the tami's that Old Navy used to have but they are thinner. I have about 6 of these and waiting on other colors to come in stock.

When returning items i dont wish to keep do i need to go to a ups store?

You can bring to Kohl’s but take a screenshot of your return code so they can scan it at Kohl’s if you don’t have a printer to print the code out on paper.
