Eye-Opening Must Read!
I was at a WBON meeting last month when one of my fellow colleagues started sharing how much she was loving a new book she was reading called The Healthy Home, and then she proceeded to tell us all that we were not supposed to sleep with our phones charging next to us on the nightstand.Uh oh...That's exactly what I do. So, I was intrigued and got the book for myself. It was a great read and I am so glad I did!The Healthy Home is divided into areas of your house, and what I loved best was that there are simple, quick, easy and inexpensive things that you can do now that will impact the level of toxins in your home suggested throughout the book.In the beginning of each chapter, you take a short quiz that indicates your level of toxicity in that particular area (this was eye-opening in many chapters!). Then the authors show you how you can correct that toxicity throughout the area, and finally, they end with another checklist that you can use to show how much progress you are making in each area.The areas covered in The Healthy Home are: bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living areas, and the garage/yard area. In each chapter I learned several things I didn't already know (and some that I did know, but that everyone needs to hear more than once!), and I was able to find simple things that I could do to help correct the balance.Now, I know that I can't change everything overnight, but I can make simple adjustments in the way that I look at things, and I've got a plan for gradual change over time.I would recommend this book to anyone looking to get educated about the level and types of toxins that are in our homes which we come in contact with on a daily basis. While we are aware of many of the main environmental toxins outside, we don't realize that our homes are often MORE toxic than the air outside! In fact, one of the simplest things you can do to detox your home is just open the windows!I'm starting a Healthy Home Makeover based on what I learned in The Healthy Home so I can begin making small changes to impact things that I can control.

Dr Wentz is one of the greatest men on earth but he can talk for literally hours and hours about the periodic chart and I thought, who is going to be able to follow his suggestions?After reading just a few pages, I was delighted to find . . . EVERYONE CAN BENEFIT FROM THE SUGGESTIONS IN THIS BOOK!!! On page eleven I quote, "we're not creating fire here. After searching through everything from volumes of scholarly journals to goofy marketing scams, I want to provide a simple, trustworthy guide. . . .You can make a handful of changes that will have a cumulative effect over a lifetime and may alter the course of your life." Dave Wentz, co-authorThis book should be in EVERY household as it truly could "alter the course of your life." The book is FUN and extremely informative and creates an EASY path to make important changes.

Home Gym Exercise Equipment
I really liked the part about using a mini trampoline or rebounder for lymphatic drainage, good health, fitness etc. There's lots of equipment that can be used for fitness inside and outside of the home. Even elderly and disabled individuals can get great results from things like a rebounder or slow walking. They can use pedometers to increase, slowly, the distance covered. There are heart rate monitors to keep your level at the point that is safe, or for the purpose that you are exercising. There are a lot of good articles that can be read about this on Ezine Articles.com and videos on U-tube. Of course, everyone from young to old can benefit from exercise, good healthy food, air, and supplements. I agree that Usana supplements are the best on the market and my whole family take them. We've also implemented many of the easy ways to reduce toxins and EMF's in our home. Baby steps are the key. Just take a step every few days or every week, and before you know it the toxins in your body will start to dissipate and you'll be on your way to a healthier and longer life.In health and wellness coaching we take the same strategy to permanent lifestyle changes. The coach encourages the client to go slowly but surely towards their goal, and also to help keep them motivated and help them get over negative thinking that may sabotage themselves. how to protect your family's health
The authors have taken up a huge task of going through different health risks in today's households and what typical items you have at home that can be dangerous to your health even if you don't know or realize it... for example, a new car smell... what does that smell contains? what causes it? Is it toxic?The chapters in this book discuss of the health issues in different rooms of your home starting from the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and other living areas and then continues to go through the garden and the garage.The authors go through the different fabrics you use, the smells and what creates them, the other household items and what they are made of, what you cook and how you cook your food, what you eat and drink, and so on...this book is a good addition if you are interested in health topics. It's good to read also if you are a professional at the food service industry. It has some tips and ideas that you might not have thought about...I was surprised how well this book was edited and illustrated.

makes aware of the problems and offers a lot of good solutions, for you, your family, the planet,and the future...without asking you to go to extreme lifestyle changes to make it happen.Leaves you with a feeling of inspiration and good feelings. Easy to read, the kind of bookyou don't want to put back in the shelf until you've read it entirely....I ordered more to give them as useful gifts to people I care for. Everybody should read this book.

Superb easy to read book to save your health.
I cannot recommend this book highly enough. You can dip into it anywhere. I bought my daughter a copy and she's underlining, highlighting it and dog-earing the pages just like I am with my copy of it. I have a sensitive immune system and I threw out a bunch of personal care items and other stuff and changed my lightbulbs back after reading the truths in this book. It's straightforward, simple, no "out there" theories, just plain dealing. Really really recommend it. It could keep you and those you love from getting very ill.

Simply perfect...
Truth hurt sometime. The book make me think and rethink about our house and our life style. Simple solutions proposed are a perfect start and easy to apply by everyone. This book should be read by everyone. I ordered copies for friends and family. Thanks!
