Q: will the 14-18 inch stands be able to hold porcelain dolls securely that are about 14-16 inches? i display my dolls and dont want any falling

I think it depends on how they are dressed. Personally you might be better off with the 12" ones and clip around their waist of dolls.

Q: What is the maximum weight that the 14-18 inch size can hold?

Not sure about weight but they hold a Barbie type doll very well.

Q: Do these fit American girl dolls well?

I doubt it. They don't fit Our Generation dolls which are similar as a little too wide with clothes on and topple over, stand and all.
