A comprehensive guide!
I have to disagree with the title of this book. Calling it a step by step guide is much to simple for all of the things that this book encompasses and teaches. There are steps, sure, but each step can probably have its own book with the amount of details this guidebook goes into. This book is great in the EBook format, so that you can use the table of contents to go to where you need to go and find what you need to learn each step of the way. There are so many details that this could honestly be a full semester textbook taught at a University.Jack Wendling starts the book by explaining the benefits and rising popularity of RV Park businesses. He talks about his own success and expresses his joy in doing so. Then he proceeds to tell you the different types of parks to possibly run and their budgets and costs. He gives suggestions and advice ranging from simple things like types of foods to offer all the way to more complex things such as legalities and full on employee command structures! This book is definitely worth taking a look at if you're interested in running an RV park or if you're interested in running your own business (especially if you experience in the hospitality industry). Honestly, you'll also get good advice from this book if you're looking to start ANY type of business.Definitely a five star. Jack Wendling should be offering lecture and teaching courses, if he isn't already.

Same content appears elsewhere
I ordered as many books as I could on this topic. Problem is, these four are nearly verbatim copies, down to the same poor graphics. Only one has an author listed, or page numbers. Either Mr. Wendling is double dipping, or some one is ripping off his work. Either way, super frustrating. As for the content, assuming this is the original, I would have liked some more detailed information. Concepts and ideas are written out, but there is honestly not too much I didn’t already think of, and the information I really need- estimating costs, is not that detailed. In fairness, there may be regional and local differences in price, but a little more detail on construction costs, grading costs, supply costs (or even usage estimates- how much will I spend on toilet paper a month per 10 sites?) etc would have been nice. I guess if you don’t have much experience with business plans this is probably a good place to start. Once you’re a little more sophisticated it is not that helpful.

This book is a true necessity if you are planning on starting any type of RV park business.
“How to Start, Run, and Grow an RV Park, RV Resort, or Campground Business” by author Jack Wendling, is a wonderful book of ‘how-to’ advice for anyone even vaguely considering such a venture.Building any business from scratch, or purchasing one that is already running, is a complicated and expensive undertaking. Having a guidebook like this one is invaluable when making such a huge, life-changing business decision. The book ventures into all aspects of park purchase, set up, and ownership, from asking yourself why you want to do it in the first place, discussing financing and financial benefits, the types of parks, getting started, location, employees, advertising, marketing, and even special event planning. RV parks are complicated but worthwhile businesses in the right place and if they’re designed and promoted properly.I enjoyed this informative book and would recommend it to anyone interested in RV park ownership. I’m glad I have this book and will read it several times in the future.

Solid Read and Instruction
This is a good book for someone looking to be an owner operator. This shows you how you can buy and operate an RV park. This is not necessarily and investors guide and tailored to someone who would live on the park and manage it. If that is you then this is the book to read.

Good, insightful read but has grammatical errors
It is a good read that let's you look into running a camping or RV business. I genuinely enjoyed reading it because it offered insights into certain parts of the business that I wouldnt have thought about. The reason I'm leaving it four stars instead of five though is the number of grammatical errors in the book. They sometimes make certain sentences difficult to understand.

Very brief overview but helpful
On one hand, what should I have expected? Under 200 pages with plenty of 3 star reviews suggests this is a lightweight read. And it is. I read the whole thing in well under 2 hours. However, and this is the best thing about this book, it's written from the POV of an actual RV owner-operator. I felt privileged in that I was in the presence of someone who had been through it all, suffered maybe some governmental or regulatory setbacks, and lived to tell the tale and still recommended it.The author would dip into interesting topics that keep me up at night light utilities, security, financing, ROI... and then immediately back out of it.There is no substantial information in this book (partially due to the fact that there are different laws and expectations of an RV park owner) but where it shines is peace of mind. This book came at exactly the right time for me very early in the zoning and planning stages of a glamping dome resort.I still recommend this book to some readers, as in my case it will allow me to sleep at night and give me hope that I'm on the right path.
