Our Life Group is using this as an accompanying resource to discussions we have based on a sermon series at our church. The Proverbs Principles section adds a nice discussion topic and we use the Prayer as part of our group share and prayer time.

One month to gain wisdom for a lifetime!
What do you think of when you read the book of Proverbs? For me, the first word that comes to mind is wisdom. I can give you a list of verses in Proverbs that just hits you with a profound amount of wisdom that you have no doubt it's the word of God. With that said, what do you do with this wisdom? The answer? You ask and you pray. And that's what John Mason's Proverbs Prayers is about. It's about guiding us in prayers on the very wisdom that each chapter of Proverbs bestowed on us.There's 31 chapters, and in 31 days, John Mason's Proverbs Prayers will be with you as you read the book of Proverbs, and pray with you on the wisdom that is within each of those chapters. You don't have to do it in 31 days, or in a set schedule. Whichever way you plan on reading this, let it not only act as a Bible study of sort, but let it illuminate you the words and the knowledge that is in those 31 chapters, and then humble yourself in prayer. Don't know where to start? John's prayers after each chapter is a good start. This book is pocket size, approximately 5.5" x 7.5" and set up with each chapter, printed first the corresponding chapter of Proverbs, and followed by prayers for that chapter, and it goes on for 31 chapters. Then at the end, there's an index of sorts of principles displayed in Proverbs, followed by a verse and then a little blurb regarding that principle. Definitely easy to follow and easy to carry with you wherever you go.For the purpose of the review, I read through in a span of 2 weeks, but as I read each chapter, and then the prayers afterwards, I found a new purpose and goal to re-read this. I will pray these words whole-heartedly and trust in the Lord to guide me in understanding the wisdom He blessed us with in His Holy Book. And last, I want to share with you something the author said at the start of this book."God can change you when you open your life to Him. When you read each proverb and pray the corresponding prayer, you will be asking the Lord to cause every promise and principle from that chapter to come alive in your life. As you do, I believe God is going to show you some things you've never seen before." (9)NOTE: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher, Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group for an honest review.http://justcommonly.blogspot.com/2015/11/one-month-of-proverbs-and-prayers.html

The prayer part is glorious.
The prayer part is so glorious that each time prayers are read there is a feeling of warmth and eternity. It's one of the best books I've read - hope more people can read this book.
