Smiling From Ear to Ear: Wearing Masks While Having Fun Paperback – Large Print, June 22, 2020

I bought this book for my 3 year old niece and we both absolutely love it! This book really helped my niece to understand why wearing masks is so important to slow the spread of COVID-19. The illustrations are so colorful and pleasing to look at and the book overall is very entertaining for all ages, young and old! I highly recommend this book and encourage people to read it to their kids!!

I love how all of the characters are featured in every day activities and how the book shows kids they can wear masks with a cheerful spirit. This is a great book for our current COVID19 situation, but also for kids who are going through medical treatments that necessitate wearing a mask to keep themselves healthy.

Great learning tool for small children!

Was really glad to find a book featuring mask wearing to help get my 2 year old on board with wearing masks. It was great to have this book as a conversation starter.One thing that bothered me a bit was that many of the animals had the masks under their noses. That said, honestly, I don't think my daughter noticed. It was just a fun way to get a conversation started about mask wearing. I also liked reading the author's bio and seeing that she is a first-time author.Some of the reviewers also mentioned that the book can be unrealistic in terms of what's okay/not okay to do with a mask on. But that keeps changing anyway, and will be different depending on your personal risk tolerance, etc. So just don't expect this book to be a primer for mask wearing or anything. Especially if you have a mask-resistant toddler and you're feeling really frustrated, it's worth trying this book out to see if it can help them get more on board with the idea. Wish this book weren't still relevant in 2022, but unfortunately it is :(

This story has provided a fantastic message to young kids about the difficult times we are in. I gave copies to many of my friends and clients who have kids kids to help ease the notion of us wearing face masks for our health. Thank you Kaitlyn Chu!!

Nice presentation and good content from a well thought-out POV (point of view) by a young, local writer. I saw it catch the attention of all ages in the room while the young readers seemed to enjoy and appreciate the story as well.

Best book to read to kids and just in time for when kids go back to school. I can't wait to read this to my students either in person or on zoom. Thanks for being so creative and thoughtful!

This is a lovely book for young children to ease the fears of wearing a mask. Unfortunately the animal characters are going about their day as if everything is normal—shopping, playing with friends, etc. Our 3 1/2-year-old grandson is not doing any of that because we live in a state still seeing high numbers of virus. This book he may let him think it's okay to do everything he loves as long as he wears his mask. So we will hold off reading it to him just yet.

Very cute book for early years. It has simple text and cute illustrations that show animals wearing a mask doing everyday activities. It's a good book for young children to be familiar with seeing people wearing masks.
