Memory's of a Tragedy-Mad Dog Killer
The book was a little different than what I had read a previous issue of it . Had some detail I didn't know . Author wrote it as if she knew the dialog each person said . Made it more of a regular story. Although I remember a lot of it , I married one of the sons later , and our children will have it in their past history , it affected their Daddy all his life . Mamaw was able to cook and clean bake pies etc. my daughter when she was 5 or 6 would go over to "help" Mamaw some weekends . Mamaw never remember what happened that tragic day tho. I wrote her a poem a few years later "Memory's " to put in the Gleaner to thank people for all the prayers and help they had done . She was a very brave and strong person.

I haven't read the book, but love that someone finally decided to tell the story and publish it! I am a native of Evansville, Indiana and have grown up hearing personal accounts of Leslie Irvin for years from my grandparents and, of course, I've studied him in law. His verdict was the first in Indiana's history to be reversed because of pre-trial publicity. Strangely, and creepy enough, he is buried just a few rows back from my grandparents. I've been told by cemetery officials that teachers have brought classes out to his grave while undoubtedly recounting the fear and chaos brought to our community by him so many years ago. His crime and murder spree still weighs heavy with many hear and will always intrigue the generations after.

My hometown
If you live in Henderson, KY or across the river in the Evansville area you will really enjoy this book. It is a part of our history. A true crime of the most heinous sort. All parts of the area are talked about: Henderson, KY, Evansville, IN, Princeton, IN, Geneva, KY, Posey County, IN, Cordon, KY.

Very interesting to read! It was fascinating to read about a local crime spree and know the locations in Evansville that were mentioned in the book

Interesting due to facts, just really hard to read
I was excited to read this, I wanted to read this. It sounds so interesting and happened in my home town, and actually involved distant relatives. So, when I get into, quotation marks end conversations to explain who is saying what, then pick back up dialog without starting new quotations. There's points where she's talking from Irvan's point of view and then dramatically switches to Hudson without stating or indicating that the switch was made. It was seriously one of those books that I had to force myself to finish. the last 5 pages i just skimmed to get finished with it. The information was great. The writing was middle school writing at best. Remember, it is always best to have someone edit your story, other than yourself, before publication.
