Very well designed, with a secret hidden feature!
Fantastic design for tiny homes, very happy with this little trash can. The lid is easy to remove for cleaning, and can be opened in two different ways, which is super handy when you’re in a rush. Just also discovered that the grey plastic insert, on the inside of the lid is removable (slides out) and I think it’s meant for scraping food scraps from your counter into the bin, when the bin is installed on the outside of a base cabinet door. Pretty genius. Or if you don’t do that kind of thing, you can use it to scrape ice off of your windshield or something.

Really wanted to love this
This is so cute. I love the scrapper for the counter as well as the alternate ways to open the lid. It is just way too small for my needs. It’s great for cleaning up while cooking but I need an everyday trash can. I don’t have a lot of space so I really wanted this to be big enough. It’s perfect if you have an additional main kitchen trash can or want to use it for your bathroom. Just be prepared for size.

Wasn't sure...
I wanted to get rid of my large waste can. This turned out to be very handy. No smell, lid seals very well.

Ayada waste container completely changed our waste routines
We’ve had the Ayada hanging waste container for a year and a half now and I continue to appreciate it—and got my husband to use it consistently, too. We used to throw all food waste that couldn’t go in the disposal in with our trash. I didn’t like that our trash often smelled bad or filled up quickly so we’d have to take it out midweek.I liked the idea of separating the food and searched for a container that would fit on the cabinet door under the sink. What I liked was that you could open it either up or out, handy when you’re holding a dish in one hand and don’t want to have to hold the cover open.In practice it works exactly as advertised. Most often, I pull the cover out and then it’s hands free, allowing me to hold the dish with one hand and scoop the food into the container with the other hand.I decided to just hang it over the cabinet door. The hanging bracket it wider than our cabinet door but it stays in place without a problem. A bracket adjustable for door width would be an improvement.I’ve found two downsides to this bin: First, it could use a place for a carbon filter in the lid (personally I think a better item to include than the scraper, which I’d never use). Second, this container is not airtight, which can be a problem for smells and also during summer months when we get fruit flies. I hope the company will work on those two improvements. You don’t really need a liner in this as long as you bleach it for stains and smell. But I wanted to line it to keep it white. After trying a couple of different plastic bags (which bothered me because now I was adding even more plastic to the environment) I found some brown paper gift bags (Amazon) the same size as the container. I order them in bulk, add a double bag to the waste bin and fold the handles outside the bags so the container lid will close. I also add a folded paper towel inside the bag. This works pretty well for us. In our county we can add food waste including bones to our landscape waste, so we empty the food from the bag into the landscape bin and throw the paper into the trash. That may not work for everyone, but for us this provides a way to save one plastic bag a week from the landfill. Paper will disintegrate. The other upside to using this container has been that we were able to purchase a smaller trash and recycle double bin that easily fits under the end of our countertop, and got rid of the separate recycle bin, giving us more space in the kitchen. I highly recommend separating your food waste from other trash. The Ayada waste bin has been a good solution for us. Im looking forward to finding a container with improvements including a better seal.

AYADA Hanging Trash Can with Lid Very nice
We used it for camping and attached it to the outside of our pop up camper. Easy to open and close, love the integration of the lid frame to hold the included trash bags in place.

Great for apartments
Envious of home-owner friends who have slide-out garbage bins, I searched for something similar that was apartment-friendly. This has exceeded expectations! At first I couldn't figure out how the bags were secured, but the whole top/lid mechanism does pull off - just be careful to do it from the bottom band so you don't break anything: it's tight at first. Fold bag over bin, snap the top/lid back on.I wish they offered a taller model as well! But at this height, I'm sure it insures the hanging method isn't compromised. It's training me to take the garbage out more often, which is a good thing.Anyway, the slide down lid is gold. Easy to slide waste straight off the counter into it in the open position. It works so well I'm no longer envious of my friend's built-in. Super happy with this purchase!
