Better quality than older model
Second such item purchased. Works extremely well. Only disappointment, the wire could be longer. The previous version of this camera was about 10 to 15 feet longer. The extension cable is expensive.

Good bird/nest cam for the $$$ but subpar sound
This is a much better camera than the cheaper "non HD" Hawk Eye camera. I just installed it today (in a standard Bluebird box) and so far I'm impressed with the quality. It's not 720P or 1080P quality or even in widescreen format, but the resolution is better than standard definition and thus they can call it "high definition" because there is no standardized meaning of "high-definition" (per Wikipedia). Now some notes:* The camera has a short cord that you attach to the 100 foot included cable so you have to deal with protecting this connection if it's outdoors (there are three connections - power, video, and audio). On the plus side it makes it easy to just replace the 100 foot cable if it got damaged.* The output is your old-fashioned RCA yellow video connector with one white audio connector... it's not HDMI here even though it says "HD" and it's not stereo audio* You can buy additional cable if you need a run over 100 feet, though I'm not sure how that affects video quality.* There is a focus-lock screw on the lens which you loosen to set the focus and then lock it in. Don't forget to set the focus before installing if you can (it's often easier that way).* In a nest box, like a bluebird box, there will be little color because it will be dark, although I can sometimes see blue on the bluebirds when there is enough light during the brightest parts of the day.5 stars because I think it's the best there is for the $$. I'm REALLY enjoying watching what's going on in my bluebird box and looking forward to watching the eggs hatch in a few days.UPDATE 2017-03-26: I'm still really liking this cam and have uploaded a photo of it showing 4 bluebird eggs in my bluebird box on a Samsung TV. I do have some static/crackling issues with the microphone but it's not too bad. However, because of this, I'm changing my rating to 4.5 stars and rounding up to 5.UPDATE 2019-04-03: I'm using it for live streaming now. The microphone is pretty bad now... with a bunch of background noise and whine so I'm down-rating to 3.5 and rounding up to 4. It's too bad because otherwise I like this camera.

Content description wrong
The description includes 2-50' cables for 100' of cable. What you get is a single 75' cable and Amazon doesn't seem to carry the extension cables. The manufacturer info included in the box says they sell 25' cables. They don't, only 75' cables that cost almost as much as the camera does on Amazon. Had to go to an electronics store to get a cable to bridge the gap to 90'.

Works well -some room for improvement.
This works very well with some room for improvement. We have taped Titmice, Bluebirds, Wrens and Wood Ducks thus far. The quality is best when the house is larger- distance seems to improve the clarity. It does well in the dark...best in light, of course. We had the most success with our duck house because there was much more distance between the bird and the camera. We had to purchase a 100ft extension- but it worked just fine without compromising quality. We run this mostly thru our TV and with a couple of apps, was able to stream on Youtube and also view on our computer (with option to record using the apps.). In the future, would love to see wireless (from a good distance), improved clarity and more viewing options. Overall I have been happy with this product and would purchase again, as I think it's the best and most reasonably priced on the market right now.

Great little cam!
Love this little cam! Easy to set up & has a great picture! This is the second year I have had one in a bird house. So much fun watching the eggs hatch & then fledge! And the grandkids love it too!

Good customer service from the manufacturer.
I highly recommend this camera for a bird box. I have an old Sony birdbox camera and this one is probably as good or better. Good sharp focus and color, as least for awhile. I did have a problem with the color and even though I bought through Amazon, the manufacturer is sending a replacement camera. Cannot beat that.

Inaccurate web description
I’ve had several of these cameras and they are great, but this one came with only 75 feet of cable instead of the 100 ft listed on the description. It now makes it unusable unless I buy additional cable.

Using it to monitor my chickens.
I use this as my chicken cam to spy on them in the coop and to monitor their egg laying activity. You can adjust the focus, get complete night vision, almost noise-free sound, and after 1 year, it's still working well. It is not true HD, but at 700 tvl (960 H x 482 V), it allows for pretty clear video capture. I was able to hook it to my surveillance camera DVR (Amcrest HD 720P 8CH) using an RCA Female Plug to BNC male Jack Adapter, so I can get recorded footage from this little useful camera which was a breeze to install with the tiny size and integrated microphone. I also have a non-HD hawk eye bird cams at 380 tvl (480 H x 272 V), and the resolution and microphone noise differences are very noticeable, so I definitely recommend you get the much better quality HD Hawk Eye camera even at a bit of extra cost.
