Maybe this is specific to the UK/Europe but these are just slightly too big to fit into typical supermarket jars that you buy grerkins etc in, so I use them only with my weck and crocks.As such, they are super easy to clean, have good amount of weight to them and are in fact very nice.

These are the perfect size for my fermenting pot and have a good weight. The bases are slightly convex and so air is not trapped under them. However, the handle shapes are as smooth as the rest of the glass and therefore are slippery even when dry. Even if I did manage to lift one of the weights from the surface of the ferment I would not trust that it would not slip out of my grip and fall on the clay pot breaking it. I thought, from the photos & description, that the handles would have a lip to make them easier to hold. Even a roughened surface would make them usable. I'll research what I can do to make the handles grippy but if I cannot find anything they will sadly have to go back.
