Fushigi Yugi, Vol. 6 (Assassin / Demon / Bride)

Fushigi Yuugi was my childhood series and I have been searching for the high quality collections. It was not a disappointment with this version at all. The printing is good, quality of paper and color is awesome and I love the extra color pages with artworks.If you are looking for a good classical manga series to read, this is one of the recommendation - a not-so-smart high school girl is desperate about her exams got into a mysterious book, becomes Shizaku priestess, starts a dangerous adventure to summon Shuzaku god with help of 7 warriors and learns lifetime lessons from this trip. Along her trip, she has to stand up against her own childhood friend, who is also a priestess for the enemy god - Seiryu. Whoever summoned the god will be granted 3 wishes. Hence, whoever summons her god first will win the competition. This series got all in one: romantic (straight/gay/lesbian love), friendship, adventurous, nudity, etc.... The story line is well-written and the drawing is beautiful. The concept of going inside a book and becoming the heroine is not new nowadays but I'm sure this is one of the first manga developing this idea in the 90s. You may find the heroine - Miaka annoying (me too sometimes) but it has its own reason to have such heroine. Personally I enjoyed this series very much but won't recommend for anyone below 16. Strong nudity and sometimes sexual content will be a good reason to reconsider whether you are ready for this. If you are over 16, give it a shot. You may find it as interesting as I did.The downside of these books will be the extra pages for explaining the sounds or information in the book. I will prefer it to be less serious and more comic-style, like the Sailormoon book series I bought recently. But after all, it's just my own preference. :)

I choose to give it a 5/5 because it's the last vizbig Fushigi Yugi! Despite, this was in the OVAs and I didn't really like them it was nice seeing them in the manga. I though I still think continuing the story like this was a pretty bad idea, I still love Watase-sensei for the story, I love all the characters and just their background. I really do recommend buying this to finish the Fushigi Yugi series. The ending was really nice and touching ( I won't spoil it!! ) It came pretty fast and since I ordered it new, it came in great condition!! NEW CONDITION I MEAN! If you haven't read it, I would totally read the series to the ending you'll understand it or you could read Fushigi Yugi Genbu Kaiben which tells the story of the FIRST priestess of Genbu! Ok, I'm done ranting on how awesome the series is though any dedicated Fushigi Yugi fan should buy it!

Finally managed to collect the whole series. This was the manga that got me addicted to reading manga. It's an epic love story, with adventure, action, humor, the works. It also hits deeply on an emotional level. There are scenes that make me bawl like a baby, even years and years later reading / watching it for the umpteenth time. I'm so glad to have finally completed this collection in my library.

Loved this series and I enjoy that it comes in a big version so I dont have to buy everyone individually.

I LOVE this comic book series almost even more than I LOVE the live anime series! FYI: There is A LOT of stuff in the comic books that was left out of the anime series!

I love the story line anyway so now having the complete series is great!It came sooner than I expected which is always great and wasn't damaged in the post which is what I always worry about

there are so many journeys each of us go on taking different paths but we all come to the same conclusion we are all one and the same no manga is different they all tell a story then reach a conclusion best wishes to the author for creating a memorable story and who knows maybe somewhere this story was real as our world maybe just a story for others so make yours a good one

I just love it? I got it on time and very satisfied.

Everytime I recieved this book it was damaged dirty and falling apart. I returned 3 times and each one was damaged.
