Awesome and Convenient!
I really love this hand blender. I had resisted buying one because I have a full on Vitamix blender. However I love the convenience of this hand held device and best of all, it’s cordless!I’ve used it for soups, whipping cream and small smoothies. I did try it with potatoes but really it’s not the right tool for the job(makes them gluey). Plenty of power for these jobs. Blade arm is easy to clean. A quick rinse does the job. I take it apart for storage and it fits in a drawer. A stick blender does not have the power of a stand blender but it has a enough for basic jobs.. Adjust your expectations and you will love this!

Awesome is the only word
It's got enough power and battery to chew through a bunch of stuff and make it smooth and creamy. But if you plan to use it continuously for hours on end, buy a corded one.

Thoughtful Design!
KitchenAid products have a strong reputation and this is no exception. I'd been price watching this cordless model after my sister recommended it and when I saw the price drop to a new historic low I decided to pull the trigger.I'm so glad that I did! The flexibility of having a cordless immersion blender is such a luxury. It can't be used while plugged in, so I make sure to keep it charged up. That being said the battery life is great and I'd never worry about it dying in fewer than three uses.In terms of operation, this thing is a dream with several thoughtful inclusions. The one-button operation is simple and intuitive. Just press harder and it goes faster. The variable speed function works flawlessly. There's a plastic piece included that clips onto the metal head to protect your delicate pot and pan finishes, which is a great little way to expand the usability. The shaft and blender head quickly detach for cleaning and cleaning the blades themselves is as easy as running the blender in a cup of warm soapy water. The blender also comes with a tall plastic measuring cup with a lid, which I use way more than I thought I would.I use this thing for everything from blending pots of soup and Tikka masala to pureeing fruits for making sorbets. My sister told me she's been making homemade mayonnaise and other emulsions with hers and I'm excited to try that too.Overall, you know whether or not you'll use an immersion blender. If you want one wait for this one to go on sale like I did and you won't regret it. KitchenAid delivered a great product here.

Most Used Kitchen Appliance
My wife and I both make some sort of smoothie or drink in the morning that needs pretty aggressive blending. We used to haul out the Vitamix, which worked great but is nowhere near as fast and convenient as this hand blender. It saves us a ton of time, and cleanup is easy. We use it almost every day, and the charge lasts at least a week. We're really pleased with this product

Great, handy device!
I love my Kitchen Aid hand blender! Use it almost daily to make a smoothie in a Mason jar. So easy to use & light to hold. I have dupytren contracture of my rt hand & have no problem using it. Battery lasts for many uses. When I see the red light during a blend, I just recharge after. I dip it/mix it quickly in a glass with some soapy water to clean. Then rinse & towel it off & set aside to air dry the blades. It stores well in my utensil drawer. Great purchase!

Awkward for arthritic hands, not so variable, but blends well
This is my first stick blender. It does a good job of blending, it fits into small containers, and I'm glad it's cordless. I wanted one with a pan guard to use with my nonstick pressure cooker pot. It's so much easier to clean than my regular blender. So far so good. But I'm not a big fan of the advertised variable speed. The variation depends on increasing or decreasing the pressure on the single button by a tiny amount, which is supposed to be intuitive, but there's a knack to it that I don't yet have. One unexpected use I found is to blend Aveeno oatmeal bath treatments in water before adding to the bath. No more floating lumps. For stick blender newbies, what I didn't take into account was how awkward it can be for slightly arthritic hands to hold two buttons at once on opposite sides of a thick and fairly heavy device. I wish I'd chosen a thinner stick blender with distinct speed settings. But this one will do.

It's a beast
I figured that this would be a big step down in power from my corded immersion blender. I was wrong. It has good power and plenty of battery life. I use it daily. Whipped cream for coffee, fresh chopped garlic and ginger, smooth creamy guacamole, this thing rocks, and all with no cord in the way.
