Ryobi's best saw
This has to be the best small circular saw by Ryobi , for its size it still weighs a lot even without a battery but otherwise its a great saw for diyers or professionals out there , the multi material saw blades gives a great cut & leaves a nice clean edge , the saw itself is very easy to use & with the blade being mostly covered there is little dust coming off the cut , a must buy from Ryobi , 10/10.

Very Good Multi-Material Saw but Not Easy to Line Up for a Cut
I love Ryobi tools and have quite a few. I bought this bare tool because it makes cutting large boards much simpler. The saw works very well. The only problem I have is that the base plate hides the saw blade so it's not so easy to line up accurately against a straight edge to make a straight cut in the correct place. The solution is to measure the position of the edge of the blade by turning the tool upside down, then marking that as an indent from any straight edge used to guide the cut. That's fine, but I do like to see the leading edge of the saw blade as it cuts the material, just to check. With this design, you don't see the resulting cut until the base of the saw has already cut around 20cm of the board.

great little mini circular saw, pretty quiet
this uses a smaller blade than a traditional circular saw, it is quite light and reasonably quiet, it cuts very accurately and smoothly, very useful for small jobs

New favourite tool
Honestly the best Ryobi tool I've bought... and I've bought A LOT!!! Love the depth setting. It's simple to use and super accurate. I've always found a circular saw overbearing for what I've cut, but this beauty is effortless.

Great little tool - but only 4 stars
After returning the first one because I couldn't get the plunge mechanism to lower properly, I have used this replacement for the first time today to cut through the tongues of chipboard flooring to within 1mm of the bottom so I don't damage the joists. Takes a bit of effort to get the depth setting right, but once done, it was brilliant. Whizzed through the joints in no time. The dust extractor was connected to my shop vac and the operation was clean. I am delighted so far. I really like the markings showing how much of the blade is showing for each depth. So, why only four stars.... You can't rely on the depth knob for real accuracy and I have no problem in lowering the plunge and measuring the exposed blade, but to lower the plunge, you have to hold the lock-off button down, then try to forcibly hold the sole plate and the body together to do the measurement, which is OK if you have size 10 hands. Also, this tool, like all Ryobi One tools has the lock off button quite a long way from the switch trigger. Which again is OK if you have size 10 hands. Most women have smaller hands - mine are size 6 and they are old and worn out too. So, I am deducting one star because I think Ryobi (and all the other power tool makers too!) should make tools for everyone and not just for their idea of who should be using them.

Useful For Lightweight jobs
I'm not sure quite what I expected power-wise from this little circular saw. I had some work to do on kitchen units with plywood, hardboard, OSB and MDF up to 25mm thick. It seemed happy with everything unless you went too hard at the thick hardboard which seemed to cause it to bind up a little.Definitely not a replacement for a mains circular saw but very useful for lightweight jobs in confined spaces and where you don't want a lead dragging around.I would buy it again.
