He's Back!
Michael Cassidy is back with Night Watch, which ismuch more than a NYC detective novel. It is a Cold War spy thrillerwith Cassidy unwittingly at the center of a cover up by theCIA. It's the 1950s and former Nazi scientists have been brought to the USto continue their experimental mind-altering work, this time using unsuspecting UScitizens as their guinea pigs, including Cassidy and his brother, instead of concentration camp inmates. Amurder victim found in Central Park starts Cassidy down a long trailof seemingly unconnected deaths and abductions. Cassidy is at hisbest, tough talking, fearless, intuitive and uncompromising, determined to solveeach murder or abduction, which connects back to CIA officers who are runningclandestine experiments on US citizens.

A page turner. You won’t be able to put it down.
I loved all three of David C. Taylor’s Michael Cassidy detective novels. And, this, the third in the series, may be the most complex and compelling one. It’s not only a terrific detective thriller, but also a fascinating political tale, inspired by real events involving CIA clandestine experiments and dastardly coverups. This book is a page turner; I read it nonstop. No sleep for me until I had finished it! And now I impatiently await the next one in the series.

well-written thriller
Joining the ranks of well-plotted novels is David Taylor's third thriller as his protagonist, Michael Cassidy, pursues homicides found on his "night watch." Taylor portrays the underbelly of New York's society as well as its usual haunts--some of which have long since departed. It's a good read.

The third Michael Cassidy is a winner!!!
The third entry in the series is a gem. Michael Cassidy is a cop prowling the mean streets of New York City circa 1956. This time around he's hunting down former Nazi's who have come to America and are willing to commit murder to hide their pasts. Brillantly written and full of memorable characters, this is a great read!

Only one complaint about Mr. Taylor
He needs to work a little harder and turn out his Cassidy books more often. They are all great and I cannot wait for the next one, hopefully while I'm still young enough to enjoy it!

Great period noir detective story
Loved the references to NYC in the mid 50s. Excellent dialogue and descriptions of action that would make great movie scenes.

Another gripping thriller
David Taylor had done it again and produced a third gripping thriller involving his detective creation Michael Cassidy. The book can stand on its own two feet but if you've read one you'll want to read them all. David calls on his growing up experiences to create an authentic and compelling image of New York and American politics in the 1950s. I don't know of any other writer who can create such vivid imagery on the page; it's like watching a movie while reading the book. Highly recommended. The hardcover is nicely presented in a handy size on good quality paper. A pleasure all round.
