An eco friendly cellophane alternative! Made from vegetable starch, these peel and self seal bags conform to the EN1342 standard. They are biodegradable and have been certified OK Biobased, and is suitable for composting! C7 sized (approx half a postcard) - 85 x 115mm [approx 3.3 inches x 4.5 inches] with a 24mm [approx 1 inch] self seal tab Available in packs of 50 & 100 ==WHY NOT CELLOPHANE?== Although cellophane is derived from natural sources and is biodegradable and compostable, traditional cellophane production requires carbon disulfide which is toxic, and when it breaks down, it releases methane gases. Bio film can be composted and will disintegrate in six months to CO2, water and humus, a soil nutrient. These bags will break down in 45 days in an industrial composting system. I recommend popping these bags in a home compositing system or checking with your local council before adding them to your food or garden waste - these will also break down in landfill!
