It have proved to be a very useful tool and one I don't want to be without. The children respond to it appropriately and I really couldn't do my job without it. Shipping was ontime and in great packaging. Thank you. Review: Great Purchase! - This series of teen workbooks is one of the most valuable resources I have found for counseling my at risk teenage students! I purchased the anxiety, anger, self esteem and overcoming negative feelings handbooks and I was honestly nervous. So many of the tools avaliable to address teen needs are dated and are taken as nothing but a joke by those they are designed to help. My 6th-12th graders happily and often eagerly engage in the questionnaires and activities in these books! They also have told me that they feel like they really do help. That in and of itself is worth it to me!

Great for Teens!
I bought this book to use at work with juveniles in the corrections system. The first 5 "chapters" are pretty boring (at least that's what the kids say) but they like it past that. Each "chapter" is anywhere from 2 to 4 pages long. There's a short paragraph or two with instructions and narratives that go along with each lesson. Then there are activities for them to fill in. Some of the activities require more thought than others and some (like the weekly self monitoring exercises) take a week or so to fill in. My company bought the other books in this series on dealing with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, etc. As of yet, this is the first one that I've used but all seem to follow the similar format. Everything is easy to read for those of average intelligence. It's also a great tool to use for individual discussions and round table or group discussions. I look forward to using the rest of the series if they're anything like this one.

I like the workbooks and find them useful
I've used this workbook, as well as others by these authors. I like the workbooks and find them useful; however, the stories and some of the activities are a bit "corny" and irrelevant for high school teens that I work with. I usually just skim the stories and at times have skipped over entire activities because the activities are elementary-like, and the high schoolers I work with don't take them seriously. Overall, though, these workbooks are very helpful and open up a lot of conversations and help teens really think about their behaviors and how they approach them.

Good resource for counselors or teachers working with older kids
It is sometimes very difficult to engage teenagers who are referred for anger management counseling. A workbook with relatively easy, straightforward exercises is a useful tool to start them communicating and thinking about their bad feelings and sometimes worse behaviors before rapport has built. I recommend this book to anyone working with teenagers. I've even used a couple of the exercises with siblings and other family members so they can share feelings, etc. and see how different people see the same situations differently.

Love this series of books
I have used the ADHD and the Emotional Health books from this series and they all are wonderful. I homeschool so I needed something that was very user friendly, could be used for a daily journal activity, and which did not require a lot of time to go over the concepts. This is something they van do on their own and then you go over their answers and discuss them. I have found it very helpful for them to understand themselves and their feelings and for me to better understand them as well.

Good for many ages
As a therapist I purchased this book to use with several different age groups. I find it also works well with children as young as eight years old.

Anger management
Being a teacher in a secondary school, I have to deal with plenty of problematic teens. This book really helps me understand the background in which triggers a certain reaction by some teens when confronted with a scenario.
