The descriptions says metal tools safe, when you read the packaging the wok comes with it says never user metal utensils? so is it metal utensil safe?

It’s carbon steel and not in any sense non-stick. You will need to season it before you use it and from time to time after that. We use metal tools all the time - there is no non-stick surface to damage. However, I wonder if you used plastic tools the seasoning would last longer. On the other hand the tools might wear out:

Are the wooden handles detachable so that it can be seasoned in the oven?

No, the handles are not detachable. Just follow the Ken Hom instructions and the wok will be perfectly seasoned

What size is the wok at the base i.e. in contact with an induction hob?

It’s small enough at the base but a very big wok, unless you are trained in oiling it properly or what ever you call (seasoning I think) it I wouldn’t buy it, I threw mine out after a few uses, very hard to season it after doing it multiple times and everything just kept sticking!
