Polar Lights Star Trek Discovery U.S.S. Enterprise 2T 1:1000 Scale Set Prop Replica Model Kit (POL973M)

I was really surprised about the quality of this model. I have done several of the older AMT/Polar Light kits and while I did enjoy them, they usually had a lot of fit issues that required filling and sanding. I also had to drill/cut out the windows and make other modifications if I wanted to light it. This kit is completely different. Fit is really good and it is ready for lighting right out of the box. This kit is a real joy to build. Great job Polar Lights! Note - the Polar Lights lighting kit and aztec decals for this kit are hard to find right now, but there are third party sources for lighting (TenaControls has a great one, or search eBay), and if you can't find the aztec decals you can get painting masks instead (I like to use the masks and paint when I can anyway). Just search for Discovery Enterprise paint masks or Pike-R-Prise paint masks.

This kit is such a great improvement over the older Star Trek models of yesteryear. The fit is really tight, and you can tell the molds must have been constructed with CAD or some computer assistance as everything fits perfectly. I also got the light kit which is more challenging but also relatively simple and well designed, can't say enough on how much this new kit is better than the ones from the 70's and 80's, well made!

The fit is great, and I bought another one to do an updated version of the TOS Enterprise, since the Strange New Worlds Star Trek Show is an updated version of the TOS show.

Having both this and the 1/2500, I feel like the proportions of the 1/2500 are better. Might be me but it looks better in the smaller scale. This one seems kinda weird around the nacelles. Also, the hole to out the stand in kind of sucks. Mine kept leaning forward and it eventually split the glued engineering hull open and fell off. I had to hot glue the ship to the stand. Also, the lighting kit for this has issues, so if I had to do it over again I'd just build this as nice as possible and not worry about lighting it. The model would have turned out better itself.

This isn’t for me. I bought this product as a gift for my partner who is a HUGE Star Trek nerd and fan. He loved it! And he likes how it’s accurate tot he actual ship. He did end up purchasing the decals and lighting unit to make it more realistic but hey if he loved it I’m sure any Star Trek fan will too.

Came in great condition AS A NOTE!!!! This does NOT come with lights to install! You must purchase those and the Aztec decals separately (unfortunately). Pretty solid build, and looks amazing if you put the effort into it. I sightless modified mine with some extra lights, but I also used the light kit that you can get separately. This kit was made to be lit since it has groves inside and tabs big enough for wires and lights to fit in. Would definitely recommend for casual and serious fans. I made a review for it in GreyWolfFX along with the light kit.

My husband likes to unwind from the stress of the day with his model hobby. These lights were really cool to add to his Star Trek Discovery model. Came in on time and in good condition.

I also got the light kit. It's a great model. I'd get the others but they're not available yet.

Eigentlich bin ich eher für die 66er Enterprise, doch diese ist Faszinierend. Ein logischer Designschritt VOR der Refit. Das Model selber ist im Maßstab 1/1000 und daher wesentlich größer als die 66er im gleichen Maßstab. Schöne ausgeprägte Details, gute Passgenauigkeit und ein sauber gedruckter Decalbogen machen das Modell zur 1. Wahl für Modellbauer und Trekkies. Der Einbau einer Beleuchtung ist vorbereitet und ein separat erhältlicher Drcalbogen mit der gefürchteten Aztec Bemalung lassen diese Enterprise zu meiner Favoritin werden. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Everything fits together nicely, abundance of clear pieces for lighting. If you buy this kit, it might be smart to also purchase the Aztec decals for maximum accuracy.

Really accurate model. Some slight issues with the instructions. Despite saying snap fit you will require some gluing. More advice with the decals would have been useful for beginners. All in all, as a noob (this is only my second model) it turned out remarkably well. There are a few things I would do differently but the end result was so impressive that I'm going to buy another one and try again!

Finalmente il Kit dell'Enterprise di Strange New Words a prezzo umano. Le dimensioni sono simili alle Enterprise in scala 1/650 della Revell e 1/530 dell'Amt (il che mi fa porre due domande su Strange New Words). La scala del kit dichiarata è 1/1000, la nave montata è lunga una 30ina di centimetri circa. ATTENZIONE le decalcomanie per riprodurre la trama dello scafo, sono vendute separatamente (chiamate Aztec Decals)
