Allowed my display to achieve 120hz with my PS5
Was able to get my ps5 working with my optoma hd27hdr at 120hz. I'm happy this was an inexpensive fix to a problem sony should have worked out already. Downside is you have to turn of HDCP on the ps5 to get to 120hz which disables most apps. So when I want to switch back to netflix or hulu, I have to unplug the adapter and re-enable HDCP.

WORKS ON PS5 FOR 120FPS
This product works to get 120FPS on PS5!! Didn't think it was legit but i figured it was cheap so what the hell. plug it into your HDMI cord and then plug it into the back of your PS5, i found plugging it into the monitor didn't work correctly. Your monitor MUST support 120fps, PS5 is glitched in it not allowing 120fps games to work on monitors that support the frame rate. So know this works because I searched far and wide for an answer and it was always a half answer and never a full one. Your full answer is right here! THIS DOES WORK!!!

2 monitors with different resolution now work correctly with a matrix switch
I was attempting to use a combination of a 1080 and a 1440 monitor on a 2 output matrix HDMI switch, however the switch (as designed) would mirror the EDID of whatever monitor was plugged into output #1 to all ports. This resulted in different issues depending on which monitor was plugged into which output. Those were:A) When the 1080 monitor was plugged into output 1, my PC would only recognize a max resolution of 1920x1080.B) When the 1440 monitor was plugged into output 1, the 1080 monitor would not display any signal at all as it didn't like the EDID it was being fed, regardless of the input I was attempting to send to it.I bought the 4k version (2 piece) halfway expecting it wouldn't fix my issue. Thankfully after hooking them up to both HDMI outputs on the switch I'm able to use it exactly as I had hoped. I can now select a 2560x1440 resolution on my PC which outputs correctly to my 1440 monitor, and the other inputs that have a 1920x1080 resolution (specifically a Mister FPGA) can be sent to either monitor as desired.Obviously my use case is very specific, but it worked exactly as I was hoping so I'm extremely happy with these. BTW I use headphones with this setup, so all my devices are set to output stereo audio so I cannot comment if surround sound works on these adapters (other reviews seem to indicate it's stereo only).

This is a Godsend
I have several monitors, and I never shut my PC off. So when I'm done with it, I just shut the LCDs off. Problem is, any open windows get all messed up because when you turn a monitor off the EDID information is lost and Windows freaks out and changes res. REALLY annoying.I put these on each monitor and now absolutely nothing happens when I power down the monitors. Sooooo nice! Windows stay right where they were when I shut them off. They are SO worth the money. Speaking of money, these were cheap. I kept seeing EDID emulators running ~$80 so when I saw these as a three pack for thirty bucks cheaper I was, to put it mildly, wary. However they feel like quality parts and perform the job admirably. No problem either with my one monitor I run at 2160p/60hz. So these are simply a good deal :)

Fixed EDID issues with the mClassic and my monitor.
I purchased this EDID emulator in hopes of fixing compatibility problems between the Marseille mClassic and my ViewSonic monitor, and it set them straight.A little background: the Marseille mClassic is a video scaler with post-processing effects for older to modern consoles, and it works rather well. However, Marseille chose to make the device as simple to use as possible, with no user configuration whatsoever. It's strictly plug and play, with the mClassic reading your display device's EDID table to configure and choose its output resolution. Well, I learned from this 'hands off' approach to configuration that not all TV and monitor EDID tables are created equally: my ViewSonic XG3220 monitor, while supporting basically any and every resolution up to 4K, doesn't have a proper EDID table to save its life. So the result was strange and limited functionality of the mClassic, with resolution outputs of 3820x1080 and poor handling of the aspect ratio of the resulting video. However, this little device cleared all of that right up. I connected it in-line to my monitor from the mClassic, and now the device is pumping out a standard 1920x1080p signal that the monitor likes just fine (even from the Retro mode/blue light operation, which was where I had most of the problems before). I'm still not getting the 1440p output the mClassic claims it's capable of handling, in spite of the fact that this EDID emulator supports 1440p in its table and my monitor is able to support that resolution, but I suspect that's the fault of Marseille's little device and not with this EDID emulator. So if you're having similar issues like I described with your mClassic, pick up this adapter and you'll be good to go!

It works without any problems.
I was having trouble with my computer losing the EDID information when my monitor went to sleep. Every so often, my computer would wake and think the monitor was 1024 x 768, instead of 3840 x 2160. My windows would not be where I left them and the wrong size. Installing this pass through has eliminated the problem. I plugged it in started the computer, configured the display resolution, and refresh rate and that was it.

Works for PS5, BUT....!
As with most people looking to purchase this product, it enables the PlayStation 5 to work with gaming montiors that are capable of outputting 120Hz at 1080p.The PS5 in only capable of outputting 60Hz at 1080p by default. 120Hz is possible only when connecting to a 4K 120Hz capable monitor/TV using HDMI 2.1, which is relatively new and expensive. Hence why people are looking to use this product for their gaming monitors that they already have (like my Alienware 2518HF).Firstly, I have no idea why PlaySation have not enabled this out-of-the-box or not yet brought out an update to provide this functionality. But let's put that aside, for now. Those looking to hook this up with their Elgato streaming software, please remember the Elgato HD60 (and HD60s) only works at 60fps so the emulator will not work for this set-up.Now, using it as intended with the PS5 (connecting the emulator into the back of the PS5 and running the HDMI cable from the emulator to your TV/Monitor as standard) - Works.BUT...After just 5 minutes of use, it gets EXTREMELY hot. I am just about able to touch it for 2 seconds before it starts to burn my hand. I don't want to think what possible damage this could be doing to the console.I haven't seen many reviews mention this at all, which makes me think others have put it in and simply forgot about it - something I was going to do, if it wasn't for having to re-arrange my desk when I noticed the heat from this thing! So if you've already got this and it works fine, please do have a check on the temp. this thing gives off - hopefully reading this may avoid some broken consoles (and dreams)! It's because of this, I am not willing to take the risk of continuing to use this. I will return. Why pay £350+ and wait all this time to get your hands on a new console for you to damage it with this $20 risk!?Does the job, but not safely.Update: the PlayStation 5 now allows 120hz @ 1080p so there is no longer a need for this product for this specific purpose.

WARNING: Does NOT support 4K 60Hz RGB - only YCbCr4:2:0
The product is smart, well made and small. It does work, but not at the spec given in the product description. Given that the listing states this supports RGB (not just YCbCr) and 4K@60Hz, I assumed it would support both together - it does not.Despite choosing the 4K option, the default resolution this device reports is in fact 1080p.There is also NO HDCP passthrough on this device, which I suspect will also make it less useful for many people. In short, it works and will probably do the job for some people that don't care/notice the deficiency at first glance, but it does NOT work the way it's advertised.

I got this to use with SkyQ
I've been having HDCP handshaking issues between my SkyQ box and Hisense TV recently and figured I'd try this emulator. For my set up it appears to work - I have my SkyQ box plugged into a HDMI over Cat5e sender with HDMI loop out.I have this emulator plugged into the local loop out of my HDMI sender and the EDID sender switched to the loop out position.I've found plugging this emulator into the back of the SkyQ box and into the input of my HDMI sender then the SkyQ box throws up a HDCP error

Solved my problem with PC losing sound output on AV Amp
I had a problem that when my Sony AV receiver was set to a different input, the PC that did iPlayer etc would switch sound from the HDMI to the headphone socket and then not always switch it back later. This widget causes the computer to think there's always a screen attached so I no longer occasionally lose sound. 10/10 for functionality but it seems a little pricy for probably just shorting out two pins on an HDMI to pretend to be a screen,

Works a treat 1080p 120hz on Ps5
Got this adapter to allow 1080p 120hz on lg ultragear monitor playing cod black ops on ps5. It works no problems. Tried with Xbox series s but doesn't allow 1440p 120 Hz only 60hz. Allows 1080p 120hz no problem.
