Excellent Debut Novel
As a Mom of two LGBTQ kids, I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed and learned from this book. I felt I was privy to not only how a teenager feels in this day and age, but how a LGBTQ teen feels. Unfortunately, I did not know my kids were gay until after they graduated high school. I feel had I known during, and had this book as a "reference", I could've made my kid's high school years better. Not only is this book a superb read for ANY teen, it also appeals to readers in an older age bracket. The development of the characters, and the nuances of dialog, make this book something anyone would enjoy. I highly recommend this book!

Relatable, Endearing and Well-written
The Sky Blues is an amazing read. You get to experience High School through Sky. I couldn't put the book down and I almost didn't want it to end. I could read pages and pages more of this. It was relatable, well-written, and brilliant. Reading about Sky's emotions - the embarrassments, the boulder of glooms, the gut-wrenching, puke-inducing sadness, the love, the heartbreak, the triumphs, I realize "Wow, this was how I felt in my High School years".Also Teddy cute.

An Endearing, Hopeful Debut!
"The Sky Blues" was easily one of my most anticipated releases of this year, & I'm happy to say Robbie Couch did such an amazing job! This was a really, really strong debut! This is such a cute, heartfelt story, & there's a lot of depth, particularly when it comes to Sky's relationship with his deceased father. I think these aspects were the book's strongest - I found myself tearing up multiple times & I loved how that particular plot line played out. It was great seeing Robbie create a supportive group of friends for Sky, the diverse cast of characters was another strong suit & I really enjoyed the nuanced conversations Sky had with each of his friends about their own experiences living in a small, conservative town. My only wish is that the book were a bit longer (not a bad critique, in my opinion) - I really wanted to see more from Teddy & the end of the book left me hanging a little bit (can we please get a bonus chapter of the yearbook prom?!), but aside from that the rest of the story was really amazing.Sometimes the contemporary queer YA market can seem overly saturated with similar stories, but "The Sky Blues" really stands on its own - again, such a great debut & I'm really looking forward to seeing what Robbie does next! I highly recommend this, especially if you're looking to build up some options for Pride reads!

I wish all awful high school situations ended this way.
I care a lot about this story. I like all the characters--not just Sky, Bree and Marshall. There are so many others who are interesting and distinct. The book is complicated as are young lives (all lives most likely). The voices seem authentic. I had a "Winter' in my high school world--a teacher whose name was very similar to 'Winter.' She was a big help. I love the way this story turned out--not all endings are as wonderful.

Great book
I absolutely love this book!! It’s past time that there was a book about young LGBTQ love birds on their journey into a relationship!! We, the LGBTQ Community have been dying to have love stories of our own, the same as our heterosexual family, friends and others in this world!! I highly recommend this book!! It is BRILLIANT!!

Buy the book for your teen but enjoy it more yourself !
Thoughtfully written YA novel that made me happy even tho I’m a 51 yo step monster. Sharing w my 18 yo daughter she’s an avid reader and also a pretty cool human who appreciates a great read that doesn’t patronize young adultsA++

Amazing!!!
What happens when you’re a teenager and you’re almost finished high school? A case of “senioritis” that is, but not to these bunch of students. The main MC is Sky, together with his other friends, Bree, Marshall, Ali, and many others along the way. Sky discovers along the way that nothing is really what it seems in the end. A bittersweet ending amidst all chaos😁.

A must read
This book, had me so locked in that I finished it in 48 hrs. If you appreciate wonderful layered characters with quirk, charm and strong friendship, read this. I would recommend to anyone who enjoyed 'Love, Simon'.

The Sky Blues is the perfect queer YA romcom
Perfect for fans of Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli, this is a completely relatable story that will strike true with so many LGBTQ+ kids out there. Heartbreaking and side-splittingly funny - you'll blast through it and immediately want to reread the whole thing.

Great story, describes well the life of an LGBTQ+ person in a small town
Loved this book, the characters are really likable and relatable too, this story's depiction is really good on what life is like as a LGBTQ+ member in a small town, it's very well represented, it was interesting going through the life of Sky in his last year of school

Extremely Interesting and Fun
The Sky Blues is one of the most emotional stories for young LGBTQ+ people. With a super fun collection of characters and an interesting story, one of the first books I have read which I seriously could not put down. Please give it a read, you won't regret it.

Mars is saved!
This was such a well thought out and written book that I had trouble not reading it in one night. The plot twists in ways I had not expected, even up to the last few pages. I am expecting many more great reads from this author. Maybe even a movie or two.
