Is this food safe? All the photos just show soaps.

I don't know, the description says that you can bake in it and I've seen some reviews of people saying they have made food in it, but I don't know if it is in fact food-grade silicone. However, the molds are quite durable and can hold up to the heat of soap making so I'm sure they will hold up to oven temps.

How much soap base do you need to fill 1 bar?

I just used them. I used 2 ozs per the suggestion for my recipe, but it was wrong... I would assume 3.5 ozs for pouring, and maybe 2 ozs after they dry..?

Very thin & flimsy. I recommend definitely placing on a cookie sheet or something sturdy before filling with anything!

Th silicone is thick enough not to be flimsy and fragile. The soap pops out easily. I find the mold to be a bit small for my taste when it comes to bars of soap so I now use it as a chocolate mold when I make my homemade chocolates. It is the perfect size for a bar of caramel filled chocolate.
