He slips the broccoli in the cupcake
Love love love this book. Heard about on The Drew Marioni (sp) Show and thought "hmm that'll be good Lent reading". Oh boy did I underestimate how God would work through it.I've been suffering from depression for over 20 years and a passage from this book confirmed something for me. So I saw out assistance and had a major breakthrough!! This book has assisted me with feeling closer to God than I have in over 20 years!!Brown is such a good and intuitive writer that you never feel heavy-handed Catholic doctrine being forced upon you. The flow of the book is so smooth and peaceful that I felt I was being educated rather than admonished to return to stronger relationship with God. Like I said, he slips the" veggies " to you via the "cupcake".

A Worthwhile Read even though not well written
This book changed my focus in life to being all about preparing for the real life ahead; this life is nothing in itself except as a preparation for the next which is eternal. The writing by the author is not that good - lots of disjointed thoughts and one-line paragraphs that don't blend with the surrounding paragraphs, but the parts where he quotes people who have had death experiences and been revived are worth the cost of the book and more.

A Book I Hope Everyone Heading For Heaven Spends Time Reading!
I'm a "cradle Catholic" and am always looking for publications to help support my faith. While reading Theology for Beginners and the like, I came across this intriguing title, took a look, and bought two. I haven't finished reading it yet because I realized I was, as is my habit, reading it to "get through it." But this is not a book to "get through." It is not heavy theology, it is not confusing to read but, instead, a very down to earth, and easily identifiable work that makes me spend each chapter in medititation to understand where I am - and where, and why, I am heading. I hope many more take the opportunity to spend time with this little book. It truly is edifying and faith supporting.

Refreshing, put me at ease
To keep my eye on the prize, so to speak, I often read and watch videos about NDEs. This book tied all of those together nicely. Michael Brown reminds us that we strive for a prize and that Jesus is with us every leg of the race. He shows us that we must shed our baggage (sin and guilt) and so we perform well and complete the race successfully. And I am at ease knowing that our judgement will only be harsh if we bring our baggage, particularly guilt and self criticism, with us. If we keep our hearts beating in unison with Jesus's heart we will find joy in this life and in the next.

Making It to Heaven
Michael Brown does a wonderful job of combining Scripture, the experience of mystics and of people who have had Near Death Experiences to help us realize what it takes to get to heaven and avoid hell. In the end, it's about love and what's in our hearts.I didn't agree with everything that Mr. Brown wrote, but you don't have to. It's not a theology book. It's a book about life, eternal life and the getting there. You probably will read it more than once.Lord, help me to be love today - not mine but Yours.

Wonderful book which contributed to my understanding of Heaven and ...
Wonderful book which contributed to my understanding of Heaven and Hell. The only thing I was a little concerned about is that mystics and apparitions not approved by the Church were sited. If those had been absent I would have given it a 5 star. I would not hesitate to recommend this book to anyone....in fact I have suggested it to my husband.

Highly recommend this book
Highly recommend this book ........Michael is one of my favorite authors. This book is a wonderful book of hope for everyone no matter what your life holds...........it will give you great insight into the calling in life you have had and the choices you have made and where that puts you in the afterlife. I feel badly for those who do not believe there is something after this life here on earth because this is an awesome book of what's on the other side! :)

Valuable advice on how to live for our God.
I really liked this book, and read it completely. I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars as it was very long; it could have been a little more pruned. But very valuable message.
