NCO Sword
After looking for NCO swords for a good number of days I found this awesome product for a great price. Shipping was fast and the sword was very well packed so that it would not be damaged. It did have a few scratches on it but with my experiance in shinning brass it was is to remove them with some polish. It was used as a gift for an NCO who served this Country for over 24 years and he loved it.

Going Away Gift for my NCO
I'm very pleased with the NCO Sword. Packed extremely well for transport, no scratches, nicely lubed to prevent any rust. I bought this, as a going away gift, for my NCOIC to go along with a sfDisplay case. For display purposes only, the price is on target, and the accuracy of the sword design is perfect. Both the cost of the sword and case combined is below the authorized levels of spending within military regulations. I can't wait to see the look on his face when we present this to him in a few weeks.

Great for display, know your Army NCO swords (**START HERE**)
*UPDATE 2025* Left the country for two years to a job overseas, came back and she's all rusted (See pictures). Going to take some time to get this up to par again. If I cannot, I will post another update. PRO: 1. Good for the price, compared to $300+ for an actual Windlass Steelcrafts model sword, those are gorgeous, but expensive. 2. Comes covered in packing grease & Oil, so WIPE that off, BUT do not clean it off, some oil needed to keep it from rusting. 3. Great for display AFTER you use some Brass Polish on the handle ONLY. CON: 1. The scabbard was polished 1/2 in one direction and the other half in another direction, so it looks like it's 1/2 dull and 1/2 shiny halves. 2. DO NOT put it in and out of the scabbard, it will scratch the heck out of it. 3. Will have to be oiled / maintained every few years, as it WILL RUST or blemish over time. OTHER: 1. Made in India Sticker can easily be taken off, after that, there is NO OTHER DESIGNATION OF WHERE IT'S MADE. 2. 1840 Swords DO NOT have a tassel, or rope, or shash, or the like, the hole at the bottom of the handle was for lanyards, but no longer used to this day, however the hole is still there, nice attention to detail. 3. This is NOT a CSA, Confederate States of America NCO Sword, ("The South") The CSA "THe South" or "Confederacy" was Founded in 1861, this sword was commissioned in 1840, 21 years before the CSA was formed. 3. DO NOT call this a saber, a saber is curved, this is straight and is called a sword. 4. This is NOT sharp, nor battle ready, it's for display purposes, or light drill.

Today I received the 1840 US Army Sword and I'm glad I opened it before I gave it away as a retirement gift. The scabbard has brass still showing on all of the seems. The polished look is only minimal and is quite dull. The handle still has casting pits and on the handle hand guard also. I'm extremely disappointed and now I have something I can't even give away. The only thing I can say about the sword that is a positive note is that the blade is heavy. The picture shows a highly polished sword and scabbard so don't be fooled. V/R Really disappointed!

Great military gift
Great sword, could have been cleaned/ polished better. I didn't like that is not sharpened. The price seemed high but comparable. Made a great retirement gift.

Get for the price.
Cannot bet it for the price. Some flaws in craftsmanship but price is amazing. It is covered in oil when you get it for rust prevention so dont be surprised.

Low quality wall art in the shape of a sword can be bought for a lot cheaper elsewhere
This is clearly a decorative piece, which is fine, however its visibly low quality with wavy uneven thickness in the blade, a twisted spine, and an off center ground tip. There are pitting and blemishes in both the hand guard and the pommel, and the blade does not even have the appearance of an edge put onto it for show. The main issue is that this sword is clearly a decorative piece, designed to be hung on a wall for show, or otherwise displayed to be viewed from a distance. There are clearly decorative pieces of about this quality that bill themselves as such for significantly cheaper. Sucks, I didn't even need like a real sword, just something that passed a cursory visual inspection and felt alright in the hand.
