Great resource
Details are great! There are a ton of images and pictures. Very good source for constructing jeans using industry methods and options to use other methods found in patterns.

Excellent and complete jeans reference guide
I'd made several pairs of jeans prior to purchasing "Sewing Jeans", so I already had a pretty good idea what I was doing. Nevertheless, I found this book really helpful for the following reasons:- The layout and visual aspects of the book are very pleasing and the order of information is logical and easy to follow- So much more detailed than pattern instructions, with information on everything from the fabric, notions, fitting and very detailed description of sewing and distressing techniques- Beautiful and clear photos- Stitch length/width recommendations for various steps (like bar tacks, etc.) which take guesswork out of jeansmaking-Super handy to quickly refer to a specific step (as opposed to tutorials on YouTube for example).-Having all the information so easily available, I referenced the book frequently as I made the jeans and the finished product was definitely superior to the previous pairs I've made.I made two muslins before making my actual pair, and the time I invested was totally worth it. The jeans I made fit SO MUCH better than RTW jeans. Now that I have my fit issues worked out, I can use Ms. Lundstrom's book to make style variations, for which she also provides instructions.I have all three of her books, and was happy to read that she has more planned.

Excellent Book for Beginners or Advanced Sewer
One of the best instructional books for those looking to make jeans. I wish other publishers and authors adopt the layouts, ease of reading, fonts spaced properly -not indent too close, perfect font size even for those with poor eye sight, and pages not busy, clear and clean reading from this book. Johanna Lundstrom provides enough information for beginners with clear explanation and instructions with no jargon. She doesn’t waste time with long explanation or unwanted stories, right to the point no matter the chapter you’re reading. Her introduction, instead of 20 pages long like so many other authors never seemed to end, she keeps it to one page, few paragraphs, and her message is right to the point. She provides plenty of diagrams and photos for a user friendly experience sewing jeans, understanding different types of weights, fabric guide, care of fabric, the right tools, etc… Yes, from start to finish you will not be bored. She keeps your interest within every page.Absolutely, I highly recommend this book! This complete step-by-step guide will not disappoint you.

The best sewing guide.
This is, so far, the best sewing guide. The book is very well-organized. I really appreciate the author's attention to small details and spending time perfecting the content and design of the book. The book starts with a detailed and comprehensive description of the fabric, and the specifics of working with this type of material, which is quite important in understanding the process of constructing a perfect garment. The step-by-step techniques and instructions are very clear and very well-illustrated. I have read many books on sewing, but this one is probably the only one that has such details, completely eliminating any guesswork in the sewing/assembling process. I wish I could find similar books on making other garments (i.e. shirts, coats, etc.).

This book is a gem!
This is my third Johanna Lundstrom book. This book is a gem in every way. Thorough exploration of all aspects of making jeans (including the hardware finishings, deep dive into denim fabrics, topstitching, needles, and so on).One of the joys of Johanna Lundstrom books is their graphic clarity and logical placement of topics. Photos are first class. This book has an index (very important).
