I needed gloves for protection against lion fish spines, barnacles, and oyster shells. The protection goes all the way out to the finger tips and over the knuckles. It has a nice grippy surface. The material over the back of the hand is very light and allows stretch. I have only used them for shucking oysters so far but they were perfect! I wear a size 6 surgical glove and I got the small size which is nice and snug fitting. My husband who usually wears a large in winter gloves and leather work gloves got the large which also fit snug and he is happy with that.

I have not attempted resistance against cactus needles yet, but you should not get any splinters with these gloves. Makes working with old wood much more comfortable.

HexArmor is a great brand and these are a good product, but they have several listings for the same item with NO size listed except on the medium glove.THIS listing is for size XL (even though the pictures for most of the listings show Large gloves and use the same photos).Also confused why they won't ship to US territories, but that's a question for another day ...

Bought these for my son who is a New York State Trooper. He says that they fit well and are comfortable. I'll follow up if he ever frisks anyone while wearing them.
