My favorite Pan
Perfect size for small meals. Easy to cleanNever bought Le cresuet through amazon (only through co.) so hope it's the real deal and not a knockoff. Appears legit. Cost is extremely high but plan on having this for years. Makes great rice.

Love this pot, though it is quite heavy.
Beautiful pot, almost a work of art. I got the Marseille (Blue), Beautiful color. For some reason, only the Marseille color was priced $100 less than all the others. It is a little slow to heat up, but when it does, it holds the heat for a long time. The pot cleans up quite Easily and food seldom sticks to the bottom. It is, however, quite heavy and some older folks may find this a problem.

Love LeCreuset - see review text for info about "chipped" edges
I have several LeCreuset items and really like them - I don't seem to have the same issues that others report with the cheaper brands; however, I really wish that these were less expensive. The saucepan sent to me with this order appeared to have a "chip" in the rim so I ordered a replacement which had similar chips. The replacement arrived quickly without any questions, so that's good. The attached picture is the worse chip on the pots. I contacted LeCreuset to get more information about this and they felt that this could be something that happens when it's made since it's placed upside down for part of the process. I submitted a warrantee request with a picture of this chip and I've included their response in this review (next paragraph). I'm keeping one of the pots since LeCreuset has a great product and when I bought this pot, it was at a discount. If I end up having any issues, I'll update this review.LeCreuset's response, in full, to my question about the "chip" in the rim:Thank you for contacting Le Creuset. Please be advised these are not chips or damage, these are rack marks that form while this product is upside down in it's enameling process. Intricacies like this are extremely common on our pieces as they are handmade. The item is completely safe to use, and the intricacies will not cause any issues in the future. This also does not affect the safety or performance of the cookware in any way.Le Creuset enameled cast iron units are individually hand-made at our foundry in France. Our cast iron pieces first begin with a brand-new sand mold. After the molten cast iron is poured and cooled, the mold is broken down so only one individual piece comes from each mold. The enamel is blown by hand, and intricacies occur during this blowing and firing process. After the enamel is applied, the unit is heated to extreme temperatures to harden the enamel. Pinholes and other cosmetic intricacies occur at this time, more noticeably on raised areas such as the lettering, rings on the lid, the rim, etc.Since all enameled cast iron pieces are made this way, we cannot guarantee a replacement would not have the same or more intricacies in the enamel. Each piece is analyzed by quality control team before being packaged and shipped across the world to various Le Creuset distribution centers. If there is any safety concern, the piece would not pass inspection and would be recycled.

Less usable than cheaper non-cast iron pot
Caveat I'm on gas, but the handles get very hot, so you can't actually handle the pot while you're cooking once it's up to temp. This makes it immediately less useful as a pot where you need to stir things around and hold onto the pot. Also, the bottom is so slippery, it feels like it's going to slide off of my gas burner grate. Trying to use this so it won't slide off my stove is anxiety inducing and makes cooking way less fun.Because of the above and delicacy required when taking care of it (not scrubbing/washing while hot) and enamel that can crack, I don't trust using this pot unless you're awake enough to not make any mistakes handling this. I for sure don't trust my accident prone gf to handle cooking food out of this for herself. If I realized how much more annoying this would make cooking in my kitchen setup, I would have purchased something else. I at least wish the bottom was raw cast iron without enamel, then it wouldn't risk sliding off of my stove so easily.
