BBTO 6 Pieces Jute Tinder Tube Waterproof Wax Wick Fire Starter Accessory with Aluminum Sleeve for Outdoor Camping Hiking Trekking Supplies

Smaller/shorter than others, but works really well.
These are a few inches shorter than the more expensive versions, but work really well. Six will last you forever if you use them conservatively, or make great gifts for Scouts or other outdoors people. On the first try, mine lit with two sparks from a ferro rod. With a little char on the end of the ripe, it now lights with one pass from the ferro rod. Once lit, you now have a match to use to light your fire. You can also cut a small piece of the rope, fluff it up, and use as tinder. You can also remove the aluminum Tobe to use as a (very short) bellows. It's only about 3 inches long, so spend the two bucks on a telescoping one if you think you'll be using one a lot. I don't. The tube serves primarily as a handle, snuffer, and as a flame regulator, allowing you to minimize how much of the rope burns away.I haven't tried lighting the rope when wet, but the claim is waterproof.

Ok device.
Ok product. The basics are there and ignites reasonably well if you use proper technique.Only problem is the jute rope is too thin for the tube so it falls out constantly. The best way to make these are with a twine slightly larger in diameter than the inside diameter of the tube, or put a crimp in the tube. This is done so there is a generous amount of friction to maintain the tube to wick positioning.I use a lot of different fire starting techniques and equipment. This one I'll keep after a little mod'ing.

NOT WAX COATED AS ADVERTISED
This product is super easy to use and extremely light weight for pocket or pack carry.Would have been 5* if the jute was wax coated as advertised. I misted the end with a spray bottle to simulate a light rain and it would not light even with a bic lighter until it had fully dried out.As long as you can keep it dry it will serve you great. Luckily I have means of keeping it dry in all weather, but to have as a reliable source of tender in a survival situation, I'd recommend buying from a different brand. You can add your own wax, but this took several coats to soak in properly without the tubing racking it off.

Good value
Waxed jute twine readily takes a spark. Metal tube is approximately 3 1/4 inches long. Twine is smaller diameter so that tube may slip out easily if not careful but not a deal breaker for me and does not take away from overall value.

Burns well, should work.
Clever idea for emergency fire starting. Tube gets flame in where you need it and away from fingers. Waxed jute lights nicely from Tesla arc type lighters and glow wire lighters. Handy addition to my get home bag.

Works Pretty Good
Jute tinder works pretty good with a ferro stick, rope does have a tendency to fall out of the tube though, it should have some type of catch or stop to prevent this

Great for campfires
I used these during a rainy campout not long ago, and they worked great. With a flint and steel, it lit right up and the rain was no problem for it.

Even better than I expected
Ferro rod will light this in one spark, and burns nicely. This is now a permanent part of my fire kit.
