Corrosion-prone
My boat uses two of these and I have had to buy four over the past 6 years or so. Functionally, they do the job as designed. But, the white is a plastic coating over some pretty cheap metal structure, and within a year they start to rust from under the plastic. By the end of 2nd year the rust is bleeding down the transom and they must be replaced. They really need to mold these from solid fiberglass and make them rustproof (except making them cheap insures replacement sales - but I'd rather pay more initially for a quality product to save the repeated installation hassle).
