Great board for beginners
Added some spray sealant to bottom after reading about how other boards came apart, just to be safe. Not sure it needed it. This board is still plywood, but the edges were really well sealed, and it held up to 10 days of constant use. The foam top means no slipping when kids are trying to ride it. This is a huge plus. We bought the largest size, and it's big. The larger size was supposed to make it easier to learn to skim, but I'm not sure that's true. Once he got the hang of it, we couldn't get him off of it. Our son is about 5' and 100 lbs., for reference. Definitely for sand skimming only.

Beginner boys had a blast!
I purchased two of these for my 10 and 11 year old boys for a February trip to the Oregon coast The boys really enjoyed playing with these . It was very cold outside (of course) but the boys wore full length wetsuits, and lasted an hour or more each day (even in the driving rain.) They were very excited to go out each day because they thought these were so much fun. We watched lots of YouTube videos on how to skim board which helped the boys.I am happy with the boards because they got wet and went from cold temperatures (35 degrees on one day) to inside temperatures and the wood seems totally fine. No cracking or warping that I have noticed. . The foam grip on the top was excellent for a non-slip surface. I decided to buy the one with the foam grip because the regular wood boards needed wax which added time an money, so I thought this was a better value. Would definitely buy again.

Great board!
Took this to the Washington coast on an extended family trip. Kids and adults alike had a great time trying this board out. I was really impressed with the quality and the foam top is the way to go...no need to wax the board!
