Not sure this thing does pwm at all
The fan controller arrived on time and despite 0 protective packaging seemed intact (the pins on one connector were a little bent but easy to straighten out). The instructions were mostly clear but didn’t give much detail at all and the English was rather poor. I tried it 2 ways and neither worked as I expected it to.First I tried my mobo’s only pwm chassis fan header to the “pwm” connector on the controller board. 4 pwm fans were connected to the headers 0-3 on the board. The fans all turned on when the pc was powered on and were very loud. They spun at inconsistent speeds but never quietly, which was more distracting than if they were just steady at 100%. When I checked the bios it did not report any activity on that fan header.Tried again with the pwm fan header going to the red cpu fan connector on the board. Again, loud and inconsistent and the mobo did not detect anything connected to the fan header. So I removed the controller board and tried each fan direct to the header and confirmed that they all worked fine and the bios picked them up and reported their speed.Giving 2 stars seems generous. This item will power multiple fans but it does not appear to utilize pwm at all to control their speeds. You can probably get a bunch of molex to fan controllers if you are ok with them running loud all the time, and at least then they will be consistently loud. The best thing I can say about it is trying it did not appear to damage my motherboard or fans, as everything was tested and worked fine after getting this piece of trash out of there. So that’s something.

Does what I needed it to do.
It's an age-old problem. Motherboards tend to have (at least on the budget end of things) one or two chassis fan connections, and my case has three. Instead of making a spaghetti monster of splitters, I decided to try this hub and leave room for adding two more case fans town the line.I'm on my second hub - the first one arrived very bent and broken. But number two arrived in good shape. The connection to the motherboard works great via the 4 pin cable, and the adhesive on the back was fine for attaching the hub inside my case.I haven't been able to really test the PWM functions of the hub, since the fans in my case are 3 pin DC controlled, but they all power up just fine, and it seems to relay voltage levels to the fans just fine. So that part of the description seems to be accurate. I suppose I could have routed the CPU fan through it, but I opted to leave that connected directly to the header on the motherboard. If you're looking to add a bunch of case fans, and don't like the idea of connecting splitters to splitters to do so, this is an inexpensive option that also helps you manage your cables.Cheap. Simple. Works. 3 or 4 pin. It's a thumbs up from me!

It did not work out for me
I bought this hub and installed on my new PC and realized that the PC was not turning on. Only the PC RGB lights were blinking. I removed this hub and tried again and it all worked smoothly. I don't know maybe that particular item was defective. Keep in mind that if the hub is defective then the computer will not turn on. Just wanted to give buyers a heads-up regarding the boot issues with the defective item to save troubleshooting time.

Complete and utter piece of e waste
If the ad states pwm as a function of the product, it’d be nice if it actually worked. The fans run at 100% speed the entire time. While all the rest of my fans not attached to that header/splitter rum at their regular low speed. If I wanted air flow id just get a leaf blower and attach it to my pc.The instructions are unclear as well as being written in broken English. Also the controller i had ordered was a molex powered one and in the instructions it only showed sata supplied power which i though was funny.Long and short of it is if you want your pc to not sound like a jet fighter taking off, dont buy Chineseium e waste like this.

Works, but doesn't
It works, but it doesn't. It varies the RPM of the fans, but not engage at a low enough RPM.
