We brought this to the pool to test this out for safety before taking it on Lake Michigan. So glad that I did. First I want to say my daughter is very careful with her stuff. She is a gymnast and coordinated, yet this set didnt with stand even a half an hour of swimming time. The straps on the mono fin are cheep and kept coming undone by themselves. The last time they came undone my daughter lost her footing with the fin causing it to break in half. My advice is to pay the extra money for the foam strapless quick release monofins. They are so much better, less hassle, they won’t break and you the parent are not constantly readjusting the straps. I’m keeping the mermaid skin and swimsuit of this product, but going to purchase a “fin fun” mono fin to insert on this product

My 8 and 9 year olds don't like matching outfits anymore...unless they are mermaid suits! They love them. The mono fin is great quality. I know stuff will get wrecked in the pool and sun...the stitching and zipper are all well made so we will get more time out of them. The 8 yr old asked if they make mermaid tails for adults. I thought she was getting at purchasing one for my wife...but she was just making sure she'd be able to still have one when she gets older. Sizing is good. I bought the next size up and they are slightly loose until you go into the water and then they cling to there bodies. There actual sizes would have worked too because the material is stretchy. The mono fins are adjustable, one size fits all. I'm really glad i didnt pay for the $100 suits because this one is great and I'm not too sure how they could improve it. Like I said, it is really well made with great materials.

My first grader wanted to be a mermaid, so I bought this suit. Mainly because it included the monofin, and the top was a halter style with ties around the neck. Saying she loves it, is understating her joy about this suit. The moment she opened the box, she put it on and did not take it off until forced out of it at bedtime. Upon waking in the morning she was right back in it. It fit like I expected, it held up to 24 hours of child play (part of which was spent in the ocean), and it arrived when expected. Overall, I am a very happy momma, to an overjoyed little girl.

PLEASE DON’T BUY!! I saw a lot of reviews saying it broke after one use and the quality of the bathing suit was very cheap and not well made!! SHOULD OF LISTENED!! MY DAUGHER WAS SO HAPPY TO GET THIS!! It kept unraveling and the fin was hard to adjust and then finally she used it once and it broke on both side of fin making it useless!! What a piece of crap!! Please don’t buy this it’s more for looks, which isn’t worth the $38 dollars in my opinion!!

The first product we received had stitching coming apart right out of the package. I fixed it so my daughter could still use it. Then the fin cracked the first time she put it on. So we sent it back for a replacement.The replacement came without holes in the seams, but we discovered after several tries that the fin just won't stay on my 10 year old's feet! The strap that should hold it on just continually pops back out through, and the blue clips that are there to keep that from happening are useless. So we returned that one as well, and we have yet to receive our refund and it's been several weeks! Needless to say, she was very disappointed, and now I'm very disappointed about the lack of a refund. So now I have no product and I'm somehow still out $36! Come on, Amazon!!!So if you don't have a stick skinny child with very narrow feet who can TIE the strap around her heels to keep the fin on like my older, skinny, child did, stay away from this product. It will just depress your child that they can't fit into something "everyone else" can.

Very cute but, not true to size. It runs very small. Otherwise my daughter loves it but will not get to wear it for long as its tight and I got her a large. Go up a size if possible

Purchased this for my daughter for Christmas. After putting the mono fin in the mermaid swimsuit my daughter wanted me to take it out and a seam ripped as I tried to maneuver the monofin out. I thought I was being gentle. Since it’s on the seam I might be able to fix it but just FYI, a little disappointed that it busted already. It hasn’t even been in the water yet. I may return it.

My daughters each got one for Christmas (7 and 5). They both love it!! It’s super cute. The tail is bather material so nice and stretchy. The size is ok. If you were tossing up between sizes I would go for the smaller.. the stretch will fit and the length is a little long but al good. My girls don’t even notice. The flipper inside can be removed (via a zip sewn into the side of the tail) so they can practice with just the flipper to start with. I would recommend this product. My girls have worn it every day in the pool.
