Easy to use
Purchased cause my menu button stopped working on my controller. Installed the type c plug into my Samsung S22 Ultra. Downloaded the app Zazaremote and paired it to my Vizio. No wifi needed for connection. Works just like my TV remote

Good Enough For Now
TLDR: This little device does what it's supposed to do, and it does it reasonably well. I'm not blown away, but I won't be sending it back either. Years ago I had a phone with a built-in IR blaster. I loved so much being able to just control the TV with my phone when the remote was lost or out of reach, but it seems phone makers don't include things like that anymore, so I went looking for a cheap device to do the same thing. There are a lot of nice things to say about this device. I plug it into my phone, and it just works. It auto-launches the app when I plug it in. It even supports learning functionality for when a device isn't in the database! The cap is very secure, and although I would prefer something more keychain-friendly, the little strap (it's smaller than it looks in the product shots) is OK. Most of the negative things I can say about it are actually weaknesses of the recommended app, Zaza Remote. There are good things about Zaza, for sure - it has a lot of device codes built in, and once you figure out how to set up a device, it's straightforward enough. However, the documentation is pretty light, so some of fighting it out winds up being trial and error. I love that it has learn functionality, because the home theater device we use for our audio is never on anyone's list! I was able to program in my TVs, DVD player (actually Blu-ray), and even my IR-capable Roku from the menus. I was able to add the home theater amp using the learning functionality. To learn a device, you have to select a device type (TV, DVD player, air conditioner, etc.) and then a manufacturer. This works well when the manufacturer is in their database and the item isn't something exotic like my 4-port HDMI switch from Wal-Mart's "onn" brand; if you're off the beaten path like that, you have to improvise. Not just any old remote seems to work very well with the "learn" functionality, either... I had trouble with the HDMI switch and with two different universal remotes I tried to learn codes from. Every once in a while you run into Chinese characters in the app - never in a place that is a problem, but it's weird that there's a bug like that. I have a portable AC unit, and I was able to program it in by learning from the remote (the manufacturer isn't in their database so I had to choose one at random). The problem is that the paradigm of my AC unit is different from the one the app uses for AC units... for example, the app seems to assume I will be able to set the temperature directly; in reality I have to tap the up or down buttons to change the temperature. I don't plan to use this for much more than turning it on and off, but it would be nice if that was a little less set in stone. The app has a way to create custom remotes with the buttons wherever you want them, and I haven't tried that yet. I understand that there are other universal remote apps that might work with this device, so I might give another one a chance sometime. But for now, for what I want to use it for, I'm satisfied with the hardware and the app. I won't be throwing away my universal remote, but at least now if it's across the room I can be lazy and not have to get up!

Easy to Utilize the Remote
It works really well on my samsung aircon. I don't need to buy additional aircon due to this small tiny machine that can be used on my phone.
