this door is a life saver,,,my dog (german shepard,,great dane mix) loves it,,,,he is a big puppy 100+lbs,,,very easy to install and is made of heavy duty metal,,,,to withstand all the abuse my puppy puts it thru,,,,,ive had it for over 6 mon. and had a minor problem with the flap, my fault completely ,but they took care of the problem immediately,,,even tho they didnt have to,,absolutely the best customer service you could ask for,,,,,,,

Great dog door, it installed very easy, it also has a solid door taht you can slide down and locks into place when you don't want unwanted guests. and the price was good and it workes for my 50 pound dog.

The dog door appears to be of higher-than-average quality. The frame is made from metal. The door is a flexible material. Let me say up front that besides the obvious tools, you'll need to purchase silicone caulking. Further, if you don't own a pop rivet gun, you'll likely need to buy one (~$30).It took me about 2 ½ hours to install the dog door. I removed the house door and placed it on saw horses. I used wide masking tape then marked drill cut lines on the tape. The door was too thick for my jigsaw blade to go all the way through, so I marked drill/cut lines on both sides of the door.The dog door kit came with screws and rivets. The screws are there if the dog door has any wood to bite into. My house door is Styrofoam with a metal skin. So I had to use rivets. The instructions call for drilling the rivet holes with a 1/8 inch drill bit. However, the rivets are 0.15 inches in diameter, requiring a 5/32 inch drill bit. My dog door is the Small size, and I found I needed an angle drill attachment to properly drill the holes.Overall, I'm pleased with the quality of the door. I haven't owned the dog door long enough to add to my assessment.

First pup, took right to it with no fear! Second took some time, but after watching the first pup go back and fourth, he also thought, what the heck and gave it a try, and now it's in and out as they please. The third pup watches the other two, but says NOPE and looks at me as to say, we'll are you gona open the door or what?

If I am going to cut a hole in my wall, I want a quality door! This pet door is all aluminum housing. The 2 halves mated very precisely. The attachment hardware was clever. Rivets. No screws on the frame faces. I’d the say the skill level installing this is high. It’s a slick pet door. I had the skill and all of the tools required and the finished product is very clean. It’s not triple layered like some of the more extreme weather models I looked at but it has a more refined finish. Very happy with the results. The magnetic grab on the door leaves no question that when your pet comes and goes, it will mag-lock in place. My advice, be a professional or hire a professional. Took me 2 careful hours to install and write this review.Very happy with the results..

This dog door is absolute trash! I don't like to write bad reviews, but if I can spare someone the stress and disappointment we've experienced, I'm willing to go there. I already knew I was going to have to cut a hole in the door, but I didn't realize I was going to be cutting a hole in my door for a product that doesn't work. The rubber flap falls out EVERY TIME one of our animals goes in or out. We've had to take the entire thing off several times to try to fix it, but the rubber flap always falls back out. We're pretty handy too, so this is not user error. I read a ton of reviews on many different dog doors, and chose this dog door because of the great comments. But our experience has been so incredibly frustrating. We've had stray cats in our house multiple times because of the inevitable gaping hole. And now we have to keep the metal secured in place, which defeats the purpose altogether. We want our animals to go in and out as they please, especially when we're not home. But now we have to limit the time we're away so we can let our animals out. Such a waste of time and money!

The dogs learned to go in and out quickly and was a great help for me.

I have ordered from Safepet before. The replacement flap was ordered months ago I ordered the exact # for the replacement and yet it didn’t fit properly. So, I tried again by ordering the whole pet door. Once again the proper replacement. I hired it put in by a “ specialist “. The door had a gap at the top and it had to be filled in with caulking.The screws at bottom were not flush and I didn’t want my dog to catch a paw nail on one. Needless to say I put a sponge cabinet liner in to make it safe. If you read other reviews you will notice the fit seems to be an issue too many times. The company seems to take the stand that the poor fit is simply improper installation. Instead of using the customer as a scapegoat why not just make a proper product.

I have purchased and installed several pet doors over the years. This one is simply the best!!!!No plastic garbage, all aluminum construction, sandwich installation very quick and easy. Was not sure what I was gonna get for the price, exceeded all my expectations. Don't waste money on the other ones.

Le cadre est très solide et bien fait par contre la membrane en caoutchouc transparente vient excessivement raide au froid et déchire à plusieurs endroit au niveau de son attachement au dessus du cadre après trois semaines il n’y avait plus de panneau battant. J’ai deux Saint-Bernard une Bordeur colleyqui l’ utilisent environ deux à trois fois par jour.

An excellent product other than weak plastic lock clips that were both broken on arrival. We offered to repair this ourselves if spare parts could be sent, but seller did not reply (3 days)?!?
