It truly is universal if it works on this rarer and older brand TV.
You can't really go wrong with GE brand. I have an old Honeywell brand LCD television that my uncle bought and I took it when he moved into a nursing home. We have a Roku player hooked up to it and now the functions on the TV remote weren't always working to access the Roku. Honeywell got out of the TV business and a replacement OED remote is not out there in internetland. I got another "universal" remote and tried setting it up and it can do some of the functions, but not everything we need. After some searching, I read that this particular model should probably work and it does. Setup was super easy. They provide a ton of lists of codes but the Honeywell code that they have doesn't work (it might be a different model TV). I did the auto search feature and it was super easy. Now we don't have to worry about not being able to do certain things. So happy with this purchase.

So far so good!
So far it's working! Very easy to program as someone said. I thought i didn't get instructions but I really did, I just didn't realize they didn't fall out with the remote and the codes. Once, I read them, it was a snap! All the buttons seem to do what they are supposed to do. I just programmed the tv so I don't know if the others would be easy to program.

No more accidentally exiting movies in the dark
I bought this for my dad, who has to have control of the remote. While watching tv or movies, he'd hit the wrong button when trying to pause or mute the tv. Then there'd be 10 minutes of baby curses and fiddling with the remote until we got back to the movie. I thought he'd be irritated with this as a gift, you know, a blow to his ego, but he actually loves it. It was very simple to pair it with the tv, only took about 2 minutes and a lucky guess to pick the correct code. It lights up when you press a button, so there are still moments of pressing the wrong button, but that's not the remotes fault. The only thing that would make this a 5 star would be if it lit up when you picked it up or moved it (like my Sony Bravia remote) instead of pressing a button. Otherwise, a lot less baby curses now.

Sorta works on my uncommon TV
Amazon's 'AI' assured me that it would work with my apparently rare Element E550AE50C Xumo TV. I decided to give it a shot, since I haven't been able to find another that will even claim to work. Shipped in plain white box. Fortunately, instructions and code list were included. I was able to find three codes that would work to power the TV 0n/off and control the volume, but none would change the channels using the channel up/down buttons. Fortunately, I discovered that the arrow-up and arrow-down buttons around the 'ok' button would change the channels. I'm not really happy with the remote for this reason, but I'll keep it because it's the only option I've found to control the volume of this TV. I suspect that it would be a great remote for more common brand/model TVs. The backlighting is a nice feature.

So far so good!
Remote arrived in good shape without batteries. I put in 2 AA batteries and then followed instructions. This worked on first try and so far so good. I like the backlight (it is a very quick on off backlight).

FALSE ADVERTISING. NO MASTER VOLUME CONTROL.
I missed the return window and now I'm stuck with two worthless remotes. These were purchased because I wanted a single remote for AppleTV and volume/power for the TV. Most smart remotes allow you to program a device, such as AppleTV but designate the volume controls as universal no matter which device you've selected on the remote. I've used Inteset int-422 remotes for many years with this feature. This device claims to have the feature:"Simple setup – Enjoy easy automatic code search and direct code entry programming, as well as master volume control to adjust the audio no matter which device is being used "The setup procedure is indeed very simple, but it does not work. False advertising. Tried programming multiple times but master volume doesn't work, even with the remote acknowledging the programming. It is completely unusable because using volume under the AppleTV programmed option is either fast forward or rewind. First smart remote ever that was not capable of doing this simple task.
