Tastes good, nice texture
I’ve never had kangaroo before, so all I can really say is it tasted comparable to venison. The seasoning tasted great, my Dad liked it. The texture was also nice and pretty tender and moist.

Not my favorite, but good.
Jerky.com provides a great variety of exotic jerky's for its customers, and does so at a price point that is really fair given the difficulty that likely goes in to sourcing and producing its products. I've had tried the elk, kangaroo, and alligator at this point, and I went into each not knowing exactly what to expect. I thought that of the trio of jerky's I tried, I would the like the elk the most as it would be the most familiar; but that was definitely not the case. The kangaroo jerky is probably one of the best, if not the very best jerky I have ever eaten. I don't know if it's just that kangaroo in jerky form is that good, but I was completely taken aback by how genuinely awesome it was. The meat was tender, flavorful, and seasoned perfectly without it being over done, so that you could clearly taste the distinct flavor of the kangaroo. That flavor by the way is really delicious and unlike just about anything I've ever eaten. Its reminiscent of beef in terms of texture and muscle grain, but its more tender, ever so slightly gamey, and you can absolutely taste the flavor imbued by the vegetation that the kangaroo feeds on.Now with all the deserved compliments being said, I don't particularly care for the Cajun Alligator jerky and here's why... While the meat is prepared just as well as Jerky.com's other products, and the texture of the jerky was great, I think this is the one where the seasoning could be improved substantially. Being from Florida, I've eaten a fair amount of Alligator, be it in tail roasts, gator nuggets, or chops. In the particular case, the taste of the jerky is just dominated overwhelmingly by sweetness or whatever sugar is put into its preparation. Now, I am not an expert jerky maker or chef by any means, but I do cook often, enjoy spicy foods, grow my own peppers, and try hard to notice the nuance in different flavors. I think this jerky would be hugely improved by a reduction in sugar, and the addition of some extra salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and maybe some additional acidity via vinegar or citrus. (Alligators are everywhere in Florida, and Florida also grows a ton of oranges. Those could be incorporated into the marinade.)Even though I dislike this particular product, Jerky.com is still getting four stars because the effort that goes into the preparation of their products is very much reflected reflected in the quality of what it's customers receive. Their elk jerky is excellent, their kangaroo jerky is shockingly good, and if you don't like spicy foods, then the alligator might be for you. I just happen to think that in this particular case, given that it's supposed to be a Cajun flavored recipe, the jerky would benefit from less sweetness, and more salt and piquancy.

My likes and dislikes may be the opposite to yours
I am currently looking specifically for old school very dry so called exotic meat jerky to include in my trail mix. I haven't found that in any of the jerky I have ordered yet, including Jerky.com.That said the Jerky.com's Original Elk jerky is very tasty. It has a slight tang to it that does not override the taste of the Elk meat at all. It is as tender as Elk meat can be, like most wild game Elk meat does tend to be a bit tougher than cattle jerky. The pieces are quite large, only one of the three packages had multiple pieces. This is the kind of jerky I would definitely enjoy eating as a snack, on an afternoon casual hike, or camping with my family, when I had a family with younger kids, and a wife who usually was not into wild game. I think even my exwife would have liked this Elk Jerky.I rated the value vs price low even though I do understand the economics of raising Elk, Deer, and Bison. These animals just do not grow as fast as out beef cattle. However, I was likely spoiled by being with a group of game hunters more than 20 years ago who traded meat for services amongst each other. In the current trend of todays jerky consumer I believe this is an outstanding product, just expect the price to be higher than beef jerky. I do recommend Jerky.Com Original Elk Jerky

Very tasty
I'm a big fan of buffalo jerky and when I saw this sampler pack, I had to try it because most buffalo jerky is mixed with beef. I started with the original flavor and it was good. Next up was the teriyaki and it's my personal favorite. I tried the HOT last and a word of warning, don't eat it late at night because all the water I had to drink had me up out of bed a few times during the night. The tenderness is as surprising as how moist the jerky is for a 100% buffalo. Each bag has 1.75 servings which would be fine if it wasn't so tasty. I would have consumed the whole bag had it consisted of 10 servings.

Does not taste right
I had kangaroo jerky when I was in Australia and it was the best jerky I've ever had. For years I've been trying to find it again. This jerky had a very bad taste to it, nothing like the authentic jerky from "down under". It was possible the jerky I received had gone bad, but it was inedible, very disappointing.

Truthfully, It doesn’t taste different than other jerkies
I ordered it because I wanted to try kangaroo. I thought the taste might be unique, but it really wasn’t. It tastes good, it’s high quality, but if you set it on a plate with other types of jerkies, I’m not sure I could taste a difference. ,
