You still need to check for ticks, but you won't find them as often.
Not perfectly effective, but SO much better than nothing at all! These fit both my 110 lb, 5'2" friend, and her 6' 2", 240 lb farm hand. They go on much easier than the velcro variety by the same manufacturer - less fiddly, and better coverage. We're not seeing as much wear on them as we did on the thicker velcro ones, either. Since these seem to last longer and cost less, I don't have any complaints about them. One thing to keep in mind - these make it less likely that the ticks get through to skin, it doesn't make it impossible. That being said, we went from 4-5 ticks on a busy woods day to fewer than 1 a week.

Easy to put on and seems to work
Easy to put on - layer it over the bottom of my jeans, and over socks down into shoes. Comfortable, no bug spray smell, fits tight against clothing once stretched on. If the pair last a season it less costs than the stinky sprays. And I don't have to take a shower after a 10 minute use to be around my pets afterwards. Looks like a winder leg warmer

Working so far, but I'm a bit confused
I love the concept. I used to wear some sticky tape halfway up my leg, but it would get caught on stuff and attract a lot of dirt and debris. This is much better. I have been in tick-infested central Wisconsin with these all week, walking through brush and wet leaves, and I have not had a tick yet, so it appears to be working. Normally, I would've seen a few by now in these conditions. However, I'm pretty confused about it. If it uses permethrin, then why can't I add more to it? They want me to never use any extra and then throw it away after one season. Why? Also, if it uses permethrin, then why are mosquitoes landing on it and successfully biting me right through it? So, I have to wonder if the lack of ticks so far is luck, or if this is working. I'm tempted to put my own permethrin on it for good measure. As some others have mentioned, it does seem a little flimsy for an expensive article of clothing. I already have a few messed up sections from getting caught on things and ripping out threads. It is not built to last, but it seems to be working so far.

If you live in tick country, you NEED these.
We live in the woods in Northern Michigan, so ticks are a real concern here. After talking to people and reading many reviews, I ordered this product for a trial run. My husband has to try to carve out about a half acre of our forested area so that we can have some type of yard, but it is tick heaven around here and safety from lyme disease is always a concern. He wears these from ankle to knee over his pants and socks. They are 100% stretch so they adjust to size, and his fit a bit snug, but he wears them over his socks and jeans. They work, we are happy with them and the entire product line and have since bought more for our daughter and her partner as they are avid backpackers and we want them to be safe too!!

Do they work??
I live on 11 wooded acres. I have not found a single tick on me since I started wearing these. I’m not sure if that means they work or they don’t work! I agree with others who say they don’t seem like they will hold up well. You have to be very gentle putting them in. They are a great idea- if they truly work.

Good to avoid ticks looks good too
Worked at the US Open all day outside in tall grass. This was the perfect product if you don’t like ticks

Save your money, don't buy these.
Pictures talk about the inner layer ticks can't get through, there is no inner layer, just massive holes in a mesh that ticks can easily get through... A completely worthless product.

Ticks Are Nasty! Make These Gaiters Part of Your Defense! !
These are a must wear part of my yard work tick prevention attire. I also spray all of my work clothing and shoes with permethrin. I wear my long socks over my pants, and these over my socks up my shin. They stretch nicely and they are easy to care for. They go into the dryer on high with my ither clothing after I do yard work.
