I've used this for about 3 weeks now and have not used detergent since. I've washed all types of fabrics. Cotton, synthetics, wool, denim, bedding, underwear, my husband's work wear ( mechanic) and even managed to get some school uniform in before they closed. This thing WORKS. I use it in a 40, don't rinse, don't use eco cycle ( it needs water to work) the clothes come out sparkling and they just smell fresh. Just a clean cloth scent. The only problem I have is with grease stains they don't wash out ( but they didn't with non bio either) my little girls skin problems have eased also. Would definitely recommend. Top tip...you need to REALLY clean out your washing machine before you use it as regular detergent and fabric softener can leave your plumbing dirty and the smell will eventually come into the washer and then your clothes. I used the Dettol machine cleaner in a bit wash and our washer hasn't smelt.

I got this eco laundry ball in the linen fragrance which has barely any scent, just as I wanted. I've only used it a handful of times but it seems to do the job. I've already recommended it to my daughter and I've ordered one for my mum. With 1000 washes for under £20 and with refills available it's kinder on my washing machine and better for our planet. Very pleased I found this.

I am happy to use this as I am very much trying to get my household stuff environmentally friendly. It smells nice & does what it says. I have only found one problem so far and that is stains or marks are not removed. Most of my clothes etc just need a freshen up after wearing them most of the time, I don't have a job that means I get really dirty. I don't think I would be able to use this if I did sadly.

I am surprised and impressed. I didn't really believe this would wash clothes effectively so for the first wash I gave it the chore of cleaning the dog's bed. The bedding came out really clean and fresh with no dog smell reminiscent at all. No soap residue. The washing machine smells better too. Update: After a while the clothes were coming out of the machine with an overwhelming musky smell, reminiscent of sandalwood, very pungent. This smell dissipates once dry but to counteract the problem I halved both white and brown balls in the eco ball. Now the washing is still clean and coming out without the smell. Much better.

This eco laundry ball is amazing and cleans my clothes incredibly well. However I've had an issue with the ball itself it keeps opening in the laundry drum and I'm concerned it will break my washing machine

I've been using this product for quite a few months now and have finally accepted that it just doesn't work. I've tried using it with different wash cycles and temperatures and always get the same result. The clothes dont come out of the wash smelling at all fresh and any dirt or mud on the clothes, no matter how little is still there after washing. After reading this online, I also tried doing my laundry using just water; "The effect of the laundry balls may be explained by simple mechanical action and by the usage of hotter water. Some manufacturers claim that their products reduce energy consumption, but their pamphlets recommend using hot water.[3] Hot water will clean some types of spots better than cold water,[3][5] leading some people to conclude that the balls worked. Although laundry balls are marketed as economical, environmentally friendly alternatives that can reduce water and energy consumption,[3][7] they have not been demonstrated to be more effective than washing without detergent.[7][3][4][5][8][12] The mechanical action of the laundry balls can help clean some types of spots,[3][5] but a golf ball will achieve the same effect for much less money.[2]" I can confidently back this up. The ecoball is no different to using just water alone. I've used a few ecozone products now and have not been impressed with any of them. I think this is yet another company taking advantage of people who want to make a difference, and ripping them off. A world driven by profit will never be sustainable. Don't give these guys your money!

I've had my first set of these for about 3 years and they are still working now! They get smaller with each wash but so slowly they literally last for years. I've got a second set now to top them up so there are plenty in the machine. The ball supplied with the item popped open a few times which was annoying so I put the balls inside a delicates bag instead, which is very effective. If you calculate the cost of using these instead of liquid, pods or powder it's way cheaper, you save a lot of money over the years and haven't got the hassle of constantly buying heavy and bulky laundry products.

Have used this only 12 times and it has burst open in the washing machine twice in succession. Clearly not suitable for the purpose. It’s a shame as I was loving using this as the laundry is clean, it’s intended to be reusable and does clean clothes and towels well, but clearly not reusable if it doesn’t seal properly. Really disappointed. I ordered this one as previously I did have a non-reusable version, but functionally that is much better, I wanted to be more environmentally friendly and have a product I could refill and reuse. But it is not if it only lasts 10 washes.
