A bit too stiff for a therapy device, good otherwise **UPDATED - much better now**
I was surprised at how stiff this was even with the yellow insert or none at all. I’m recovering from tennis elbow and for therapy it should be way easier to twist than this. It is also quite large in cross section but that is due to the use of inserts that slide through the middle and I’m not sure that is a problem for its intended use. I’m a pretty strong guy but an injury does not require a lot of resistance initially since the intent is to strengthen weakened muscles and tendons and regain range of motion. Too much resistance can exacerbate the problem if used too soon. I may order a light Therabar to complement this set. Otherwise, if just used for strengthening exercises without an existing injury it is good.UPDATE: I cannot say how impressed I am with Simien LLC. They do read reviews and proactively reach out if they feel you were not satisfied. They noted my comments and I provided some feedback as to how their product could improve. They informed me that they had had a number of similar complaints about a specific batch they received from the manufacturer and were looking into it, promptly refunding my purchase price. Customer service does not get any better than this. I upgraded the rating to 4 stars because as a general exercise device it does work well, just that for the described therapeutic use it was too stiff. I hope they are able to address this problem and that it was just a bad batch.UPDATE 2: Simien LLC is in a league of their own for customer service. They redesigned the formulation of the rubber and sent me a new item. The new item is far more flexible than the original one both in torsion and flex. The primary change seems to be in the formulation of the outer sleeve which is much softer and more flexible than the original one but all of the inserts seem a bit more compliant also. I can now recommend this product without reservation. Please support this company, they work hard for your business, stand 100% behind their products and definitely deserve it.I do not work for them and have no affiliation with them other than as a very satisfied paying customer.

Great value for the price - and it works!
I bought the armbar along with Simien's elbow brace. Couple those with performing a twist exercise with the armbar daily and my tennis elbow pain has been significantly diminished over the past month (you can disregard all the other exercises that come on a sheet with the armbar). Other online searches resulted in lists of exercises that could be done daily that "might" help over a period of many months. The twist exercise that they include a link to in their instructions got my arm stronger while the elbow brace alleviated the pain during the healing period. My arm hurt so much when I started that I used the armbar without inserts and only did 5 reps, 3 times a day. Over time I added the yellow insert and worked up to the recommended 15 reps, 3 times a day. Before buying Simien's elbow brace, I purchased a different brand with the air bubble from Walgreens. The glue holding the bubble in place wasn't strong enough to keep the bubble in the brace so I looked for an alternative. Love Simien's elbow brace! Comparing to what I bought at Walgreens, with Simien I got 2 for the price of one plus some extras (like a sweatband). And Simien's comes with small and large adjustable bands.I had to contact the seller/manufacturer about discounts offered that didn't show up in my cart. They responded almost immediately and took care of my issues with no questions asked. Awesome customer service!!Great high-quality products that work coupled with amazing customer service. Couldn't ask for more.

Recommended - stops pain.It works for tennis/golfers elbow
So I go to my Orthopedic with tennis elbow. Doc diagnosed it as tennis elbow, not me but anyhow. I’m Expecting to get a cortisone shot. Orthopedic tells me we do not do that anymore. I say Doc this tennis elbow really hurts. Doc says go to pt they’ll show you the Tyler twist. I say what? He says its a technique using a rubber tube that you twist. I say no way & i do not have time for PT. Doc says okay heres the deal Doc gives me the name of this product, say its on amazon, i pull it up, Doc says the Tyler Twist technique is onYouTube. He draws up the muscle and how it works on a piece of paper. I’m thinking this is bogus. I’m in pain. Cannot hold a club or hockey stick.Guess what-the DOC WAS CORRECT. It works. Did the twist for a week while at work. Wow

SIMIEN ARMBAR
You know how it is....you're in pain and you get on Amazon to find something that can help you out. As I have gotten older I find myself doing this more and more.Tennis elbow is my main problem at the moment and after watching some armbar treatment videos I hopped on Amazon to pick up this product, which the video recommended.I have not had it long but I can tell it will help the more I use it(already getting some good results). The SIMIEN armbar is made very well. It has a good amount of weight to it and has some inserts to give you various stiffness. It comes with a helpful instruction sheet but you can also find all sorts of videos one how to use it. Turns out it's not just good for tennis elbow but loads of other issues. I'm so glad I purchased this. I hardly ever right reviews but this product is fantastic.

This is what you want
At $20, this product is an absolute steal! The material is great and the interchanging levels are easy. Even at its original price of $40, it's still very nice. I would probably end up going with something cheaper with a single level of resistance but at $20, this is a no-brainer. If the price is right, don't even think about it. Get this twist bar over anything else.

Toos Stiff for a Beginner
Even the lightest tension isn't nearly light enough for the starting level my PT wanted me to use for tennis elbow, even without any of the inserts. The TheraBand yellow, or equivalent, is where she wanted me to start. Different companies use different colors to indicate tension levels.I did get the perfect light-tension one for starting. It's the DMOOSE FITNESS Flex Bar (Yellow-Extra Light) for starting out, which feels about right for my aching elbow. And it's cheap.
