A god sent for some
Best thing I have ever bought point blank.very sturdy, great firm rubber grips. Now mom can sit in the soft sofa, sit in a cozy chair not a hard recliner that flings her out by rushing a remote.Pointers let your loved one grip the handles a few moments and explain what you are going to do if they have a touch of memory loss.have them hold and easily lift them at count of 3 and let them settle back.Ok let’s try it again 1 2 3 hold on tight and say up we go hold tight hold tight.Raise them slowly but firmly don’t jerk them up.Please keep a eye on there hands and feet watch for good grip,if not ease them back.I massage her hands lightly to gently get good blood flow inthe hands.Cold hands due to neuropathy or arthritis is not good.massaging there fingers lightly is very important step in getting there hand stronger grip.Be safe test there balance first raise up slightly and set back, then talk them thru it on 3 I will pull.1 2 3 hold tight up we go.Specially the elderly talk them thru every move.If there on the floor use extreme care a fall might have damaged in some way a hip. Before using this if elderly are on floor.dial 911 be safe not sorry.Smooth and slow and gentle, don’t flip or thrust the elderly up fast.If there balance is off they may just topple forward onto you.Slow and easy and firm give them time to adjust rising. Some people or meds or vertigo will just keep falling forward. Before trying on elderly have a young teen practice a few times so one gets the feel of how hard to pull.

Magic Helper!!
This poduct is positively amazing! Essentially, it is just physics in action - using leverage to move. No matter the size of the users, the Liberty Lift can assist in getting a person up. My cousin and I bought one several years ago. There is over 200 lbs. difference in our body weight yet we could each help the other out of a chair. Incredible! I recently purchased a second one to use with my mother who is 99 years old. She still has enough strength to grasp one end of the Lift for me to assist her in sitting up in the bed and enables me to assist her in getting up. You cannot go wrong with this product. It is indeed magic!!

Very Useful in Emergencies
I bought this because it is going to be very handy when either my wife or I fall and can't get up. We have had those kinds of situations and it's very difficult to get an elderly person off the floor after a fall. My wife and I have practiced with it in simulated falls and it works great. We found that if you lean backwards when lifting the fallen person, you use your weight to supplement muscle power to get the person up. We keep it in a location we can quickly access in case we need it.It's well made, easy to use, and appears to be up to the task. I recommend it for any family in which elderly people may need help getting off the floor or out of a chair.

Not the best design.
This is a good idea, but in my opinion, the design isn't quite ideal. What I mean is this: the two sides are identical, so you use one for pulling, let's say when you're outside a car, with both hands and one for being pulled, inside the car, also using both hands. And that's where the problem is. I pull my elderly mother out of the car, and since I like to balance myself with one hand against the car doorsill, that leaves one hand for the "Liberty Lift." But as you can see in the product photos, you can't put one hand in the center; there is a plastic divider there. It's impossible. So you have to put your free hand on the left side or the right, and that means that the torque is not balanced as you pull. It's really awkward. One side of this thing ought to be completely open instead of divided into two halves. That way, you can grip it wherever you want, including in the center, where you need to grip it. So I can't give this thing more than three stars.

A lifesaver for older people who fall
This gadget is amazing for helping someone who has fallen. I can't possibly lift my husband when he falls. This helps me to be able to plant my feet and lean backwards with all my weight. That gives my husband the help he needs to get back on his feet, either by pulling him up or even by helping him slide over to a piece of furniture or bathroom sink that he can use to get up himself. I lost mine and bought a replacement right away.

BUY THIS NOW!!
When I was shopping for home health items to assist my partner after a fall, I came across this Liberty Lift Standing Aid. I wish I knew about this before because every time I use it, I just smile. Even before her fall, I have had to help her to a standing position most days and it gets to your back after awhile. This is amazing! Since we're on both sides of the device, it balances our "pulls" and I'm not really pulling her up as much as holding the device and letting her pull herself up. She doesn't have a lot of arm strength and virtually no leg strength, but you couldn't tell with this! We're both plus size too, so I can't imagine how well this works for smaller folks!!Again, if you find that you are in a position where you help another person stand up on a regular basis, this is a life saver. I thought the price was a little high at first but after using it, I would have paid double the amount. It's perfect physics in an unbelievably sturdy device. I think the only way this thing could ever break would be by a literal steam roller, it's seriously that solid of a device. The grips on the handle are the best rubber grips I have ever used.
