Hollywood Racks Locking Threaded Hitch Pin Bolt with Security Cable Lock Black, 1/2-13 TPI

The locking hitch pin bolt made by Hollywood works very well with my Hollywood Trail Rider hitch rack. This kit can be used with the cable looped around the bicycles on your rack or with only the lock which secures only the threaded hitch pin. The locking pin replaces the stock non-locking pin. It inserts just like stock, it threads and tightens perfectly. The locking portion slips over the end of the bolt and snaps onto the groove of the pin. I have a Curt class 3 hitch on my Dodge Charger and there are no clearance problems. The locking mechanism is smooth and operates properly with the supplied keys. There are four keys provided and all four keys operate the hitch lock as well as the cable lock that comes with this set-up. The cable is for locking the bicycle/s to the rack. The cable is a thin plastic coated metal cable. The lock operates smoothly and snaps closed when engaged. Easy to operate. Hint. I use a rechargeable ratchet with a 16mm deep well socket to tighten and loosen the threaded hitch because my receiver is tucked under the rear bumper. Much less of a hassle.This is a reasonably priced item and you get what you pay for at $34.95 Nothing about this security system inspires confidence. High security locks are closer to $100. It is in my opinion only capable of preventing a spur of the moment runoff. The sneeze of an experienced bike thief would blow this system into pieces. I personally don't live in a major metropolitan area so this an adequate set-up for me.

I bought the Hollywood locking hitch pin and security cable as a set at the same time as I bought the Hollywood recumbent bike rack. The keys to both the hitch pin and the cable match, a very nice touch. The cable is nice and long - long enough that when my bike is mounted, I can thread it through all the key places on my recumbent and also through a couple of spots on the rack. The cross pieces (with the tire mounts)of the Hollywood recumbent rack can be folded upward when there are no bikes mounted and the cable is long enough that I can thread it through the welded circle on my hitch and through the tire mounts, etc., in order to fully lock the tire mounts when I leave my car for my ride. The quality of both is excellent. The hitch pin is threaded - which makes for a very secure connection and reduces any wobble that might otherwise exist (the rack mounting hardware already minimizes wobble - so the combination is very good). The locks appear to be of high quality and work easily. There are sliding covers over the locks - nice feature - will keep rain, dust, grime, etc., out of the locks. The cable end has a knob and you connect it with the lock by pushing it in - very convenient. I am 100% satisfied and would buy the exact same combination again (including the rack).

I don’t think you’ll find a nicer anti-rattle hitch bolt with cable and locks at this price. The bolt is plenty long for 2” hitches and the cable is long enough to run through your wheels so they don’t get stolen. You get 4 keys all keyed the same. The nicest feature are the locks. You only need to the key to take off the lock but not to lock it. Has a cover over the core to keep the lock lasting longer.

This is a great lock for Hollywood Racks. I used this on my platform rack and it fit perfectly. I will say that you need to make sure you point the key slot out when you slip the lock onto the pin. I installed it facing back instead of front, before I noticed that the lock is so large I couldn't rotate it to the front to get the key in the key hole. I was able to get it off by removing the plastic shell on the key. This allowed me to slip the shorter much thinner key between the hitch and the car frame to unlock it. Needless to say I pay attention which way the key slot is pointed before I put it on.

Well made. Good quality. Lock works well. Appreciate the locking cable that is keyed the same as the pin lock. Spendy, but worth the money.

I purchased a used bike rack and I had a 2" receiver. I found the perfect reducer to 1 1/4", https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B009NUY4PU?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details . Now with this locking bolt, it tightens the rack. The previous bolt I had wasn't able to lock, now with this kit, when we stop at motels on our travels we can lock the bikes to the rack and the rack is locked to the car. So now they would need to steal the whole car :).

The lock is of high quality, both locks work well. Using a single key for both lock is definitely a plus in my opinion. Since the hitch pin is a lot long than needed, it would be nice to have another nut on the end to prevent it from rattling. Great product for the price.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I bought two Hollywood bike racks, one in 2012 and the other in 2014, both great racks. I needed to leave 4 bikes on the 8500 rack overnight. The cable EASILY secures all four bikes. The keyed-a-like locks seem very secure and make a loud "click" when fastened correctly. The hitch lock fits my rack and is easy to tighten on my 2019 suburban LT.

J'ai acheté ce kit pour principalement compenser le fait que la plate-forme pour vélo Hollywood que j'avais commandée, selon son descriptif, ne semblait pas posséder l'accessoire pour verrouiller le support à l'attache de l'auto. En vérité, il en possède un. Mais je ne regrette pas ce kit. Le mécanisme de verrouillage comporte un ressort dans le mécanisme de la clef. Il fonctionne mieux et semble de meilleur qualité que celui inclus avec mon support.

Con esto aseguró mi bicicleta en la parte trasera de mi pickup. Puedo bajar al Oxxo a comprar cosas sin preocupación de que me roben, ligera y aguanta todo tipo de clima

I like this product as it fits perfectly with 4 bikes on a bike rack. No metal is exposed so it should last a long time. I love this lock. A second set of keys is great.

Perfect for my bike rack. Allows me to secure rack to my hitch. easy to use. doesn’t look like locks would give away very easily. Value for money.
