He reads them aloud to me as I quit and we go in magical adventures of the imagination together. I’m a retired reference librarian so sharing the joy of reading is important to me and these books allow us to share the adventures and make joint decisions on how our adventures progress. Most of the text is easy to read but they tend to sprinkle in vocabulary or geographic locations that challenge young readers. Review: Great for kids who are upping their reading game - Like: The writing was better than I remember from when I was a kid; 8 year old daughter loves them, and I love reading them with her, which TBH is not always my favorite activity. Disliked: one very minor complaint: the box it comes in is very flimsy but my daughter insists on storing them in the box, so it's a pain to get them in and out.
