Smart Plug Amysen - A Certified & Alexa, Echo & Google Home – Only WiFi 2.4G (4- Pack)

Very hard to setup. Was only able to connect 2 of 4 devices to be controlled by my Echos. Don't bother getting these as the SmartThings app is poor at best as it keeps telling me my user name or password is wrong and does not send a reset to my email. Also there is an apparent new verson oof the app I just loaded. Why is there an od version if there is a new version. Not happy about the glowing reviews I read before I purchased these plugs. SUCKO

I used these plugs to control table lamps in my living room and bedroom. They installed easily with the app and I used Alexa commands to control them with no issues. When the light was on approximately 20 minutes, the plug turned itself off then immediately on again without any command from me. This happened again, around every 10 to 20 minutes. I replaced the plug with a different one and the same thing happened with 3 of them until the 4th one which worked fine. I already had some smart plugs so I am very familiar with installation, programming, and what to expect. I have returned these plugs and purchased another brand.

Maybe it was me but not as easy to setup as a competitor. This one requires to install using a hotspot created by the device. The other model I bought just was recognized on my wifi in house.

I am actually kinda impressed with these. I have them currently connected to Google Home. Only 4 out of 5 because you cannot connect them to a surge protector, it has to be the outlet.Surprisingly simple set up-plug it in and download the app. Follow the semi dummy-proof instructions and wa-la. You will hear a loud click from the outlet. After you've set up the account, you can connect to Alexa or Google. I had to play with the settings for length of time and time on- I do wish it had a time, say daily from 9pm-4am or so, but you can either set it for x-amount of time as a countdown clock or just on at whatever time so it works.Its only been 24hrs ive had them connected, but the app works well, the connection was good, and it seemesly transitioned to Google Home. If there's a change, ill update but right now, I say get these!

THE PLUGS SEEMED LIKE A GOOD DEAL AND LOOKED LIKE GOOD QUALITY BUT WOULDN'T WORK, WOULDN'T RECOGNIZE THEIR OWN QR CODE AND THE APP TRIED TO HACK ME!!! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THIS APP IS CRAP! IT DOESN'T WORK AND IN TRYING I HAD TO CHANGE MY PASSWORD 3 DIFFERENT TIMES AFTER BEING RE-ROUTED TO A CHINESE SITE THAT KEPT ASKING FOR MY INFO!!!! AFTER LOOKING TO THE HELP SECTION OF THE APP-IF YOU STILL BOTHER-YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH A BUNCH OF ACTIONS AND IF THAT STILL DOESN'T WORK THERE'S AN EMAIL LINKED TO ALIBABA. USING THIS APP, WHICH WOULDN'T RECOGNIZE IT'S OWN QR CODE FROM THE BOX THE PLUGS CAME IN, I NEARLY LOST ALL CONTROL OF MY ACCOUNT.I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE CRAZY PARANOID "CHINA IS HACKING US" PEOPLE, BUT MAYBE I AM NOW AFTER USING THIS SO-CALLED SKILL. BS. I WILL STICK WITH PRODUCTS THAT LINK DIRECTLY THROUGH THE ALEXA APP, GOOGLE HOME OR WHO HAVE AN APP/COMPANY ON UNITED STATES GROUND. THANKS TO OUR SOON-TO-BE EX-PRESIDENT, OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH CHINA IS WAY TOO DAMAGED FOR ME TO TRUST THEM WITH MY DATA. IT'S SAD IS WHAT IT IS.I AM REALLY GETTING ANGRY WITH AMAZON "SPONSORING" AND VOUCHING FOR PRODUCTS BECAUSE THEY CAN BE USED WITH THEIR PRODUCTS AND THEN YOU GET IT HOME AND IT'S JUNK! PAY ATTENTION AMAZON, THIS MAY BE YOUR DOWNFALL!

I purchased these since they had a great review and the Amazon plugs are now so expensive. However after an hour of trying to figure out why they wouldn't work I realized I have 5G. Apparently most, if not all, smart plugs work on 2.4G and NOT on 5G. They give you directions on how to switch your router from 5G to 2.4G but who in the world thinks doing that is a good idea! SO I have to return them and apparently will not be able to use any new smart plugs until someone makes one for 5G. I suspect the plugs work great and that the 1 star is more for the plug not working on 5G than the actual functionality of the plug. The internet providers are pushing 5G, how are there no smart plugs for 5G networks!

Updated 11/22/20Finally got these plugs connected. They work fine. I like them. You cannot fit 2 smart plugs in the same other. Changed rating from 1 star to 3 star, because it was supposed to for 2. It's bulky, can't use my plug ins at the same time as smart plug.Couldn't get it connect. I tried multiple times and it would not connect. I have alexa echo and Google nest. It won't connect. I have other smart sockets from alexa. Can't return it because it's been more than 30 days. Waste of money for me.

The initial instalation was at moments frustrating as their were problems with the app communicating with manufactures web sight but when it came time to link with the echo plus it went great with no link or pairing problems. I would be nice if it worked with home kit but it does not. Here it comes BUT if all you want is fast intergation with the Echo on a single socket or device or just to quickly slap one here situation then this is the unit you want it is cheap, nice and works fine. So why 4 stars first time setup is a pain, echo integration pain and no Home Kit integration. I do use a lot of them mostly where I have an amazon flex sitting.
