Old El Paso Al Pastor Taco Seasoning, 0.85 oz

I didn't know this seasoning existed until it came up in a search for something else on Amazon. My family LOVES al pastor pork, so I gave it a try. It's got really delicious flavor, a comfortable amount of spice for my family (we probably prefer things on the hotter side but not insanely hot) and it's a great starting point for a dish. I prefer to use pork butt in a slow cooker with this spice mix sprinkled over the top and a bit of pineapple juice and pineapple chunks or slices, cooking low and slow until the pork can be shredded and mixed back into the flavorful juice. I can't recommend using it the way the packet itself directs (with ground pork and pineapple in a pan). I feel like that makes the pineapple too overpowering and detracts from the flavor.

I didn't see it anywhere on the package saying this was spicy, and I'm not one that minds a bit of it, but this was spicy to the point of uncomfortable & it took away from the great flavor to me/my family.

Absolutely delicious. I personally take about a 3lb pork loin, cook it in my slow cooker in pineapple juice, take just the meat out, mix in 3 packets of this and the rest of the bottle of pineapple juice, Absolutely delicious

I definitely recommend this taco mix if you like, something unique and different. Great flavor.

I like the ease of the use of this product but the flavor is not as intense as I would like. I'm sure there is other products out there that can hit AL pastor on the head. But for a quick meal this will do.

Just the right flavor

Even though the package says this is for pork, I used this to season two pounds of sauteed chicken.It turned out great. I'll do that again.
