The rodโs adjustable length is a great feature
**SAN LIKE Adjustable Portable Telescoping Fishing Rod** As an avid fisherman who enjoys spontaneous fishing trips, I was intrigued by the SAN LIKE Adjustable Portable Telescoping Fishing Rod. I was looking for something lightweight, compact, and easy to carry for those impromptu fishing sessions without sacrificing performance. **What I Like:** - **Portability**: The telescoping design is incredibly convenient. When fully collapsed, the rod is compact enough to fit into a backpack or even a large pocket, making it perfect for travel or quick fishing outings. This portability is one of the main reasons I chose this rod. - **Adjustable Length**: The rodโs adjustable length is a great feature, allowing you to customize it based on the type of fishing youโre doing. Whether youโre fishing from the shore, a dock, or a boat, you can extend or shorten the rod to suit your needs. - **Sturdy Build**: Despite being lightweight and portable, the rod feels surprisingly sturdy. Itโs made from durable materials that can handle a decent fight with medium-sized fish. The balance between weight and strength is well-executed. - **Comfortable Handle**: The rodโs handle is comfortable to grip, even during extended use. Itโs well-designed with a non-slip coating that provides a good hold, even when wet, which is important for maintaining control while casting or reeling in. **What I Donโt Like:** - **Limited to Medium Fish**: While the rod is sturdy, itโs best suited for catching medium-sized fish. It might struggle with larger, more powerful fish, so itโs not ideal for heavy-duty fishing. If youโre targeting bigger species, you might want to look for a more robust option. - **Telescoping Mechanism**: The telescoping mechanism, while convenient, can sometimes be a bit finicky. Itโs essential to make sure each section is securely locked in place before casting to avoid the rod collapsing unexpectedly. This isnโt a frequent issue, but itโs something to be mindful of. - **Price Point**: The price is slightly higher than some other portable rods, but given its features and quality, I find it justifiable. However, if youโre on a tight budget, there are less expensive options available that might offer similar performance. **Bottom Line:** The SAN LIKE Adjustable Portable Telescoping Fishing Rod is an excellent choice for anglers who value portability and convenience without sacrificing too much in terms of performance. Its adjustable length, sturdy build, and comfortable handle make it a versatile and reliable option for spontaneous fishing trips. While it may not be ideal for catching larger fish, and the telescoping mechanism requires careful use, its overall quality and ease of transport make it a worthwhile investment for those who enjoy fishing on the go.

Alaska Tough.
Used these poles for a tarp when hunting on the Arctic North Slope in Alaska. Survived a snowstorm and two wind storms. Very happy with their performance.

Great, just don't step on them!
I really liked these poles. The pieces screw together, so you don't have to worry about them slipping down after setup. The height is good and the poles are very light. The spikes worked well to hold my tarp grommets, until the wind picked up. I used them to hold up my shade tarp while I gardened during the heatwave last Spring. They were small enough to store in my SUV's storage area, so I could keep my poles and tarp on hand wherever I traveled. Sadly, one of the poles were bent when my husband tromped through our campsite in the dark after a windstorm.

You get what you pay for
These hollow aluminum tube that are molded to screw together can easily be overtightened causing them to not want to come apart or go back together after 1st assembly. They're not designed to hold up more then a medium-duty tarp, a heavy-duty tarp is just to heavy to counter by angling them. If you're expecting winds over 15 mph, of gusts over 25mph TAKE THEM DOWN or they will break. I basically used them for placement and the grommet connection on top, then duck-taped them to the metal-T fence posts I drove into the ground in their place, as they are not designed to stake down in any way either. Not versatile, not high quality, but fit for the job I, personally, intended them for. To say they perform well would be a misnomer because they only did as I expected. If you don't expect much they *might* work for you.

Worked great to keep tarp over tent during storms
Easier to install than I expected, simple one person job. Used to hold a tarp over tent during heavy rain, kept everything up despite wind and rain. Like that the size is adjustable by removing pieces.

Flimsy Junk. Will bend and break in light to moderate wind. DO NOT BUY
These claim to be โhigh durablilityโ and โsturdyโ but I just got back to my campsite to find both poles bent and broken. Itโs a clear sunny day and theres no weather advisory, the wind is 9-11mph with some occasional 20mph gusts. Yet these things folded like a house of cards. Had them for just over a month, 3rd camp with these and now Iโm shopping for replacements. I wish the poles my awning came with were this high, because those are sturdy AF, and withstand 70mph wind gusts, hell the reinforced canvas will (and has) tear before those would even bend a fraction of an inch. These arenโt much better than crappy aluminum poles, canโt say I recommend these but itโs hard to find poles worth a damn that can match or exceed the height of my White Duck Avalon bell tent a-frame poles which is 6โ UPDATE: The one pole I salvaged from the junk just bent and broke in a very light 20mph gust, I was there when it happened and had a hard time processing how such a mild gust could bend and break it. I had ordered a replacement set thinking that maybe they had broke in a freak high speed gust. Nope. Just a normal gust in a tiny bit of weather. Iโm now forced to spend $50 in gas and 4hrs driving to get my reliable sturdy poles that have withstood 70mph+ gusts out of storage and send the replacement poles I had ordered back for a refund I strongly advise NOT TO BUY. These are not fit to purpose, will break in even the slightest gust and are cheap junk created and marketed exclusively TO RIP YOU OFF

Only used once but ....they good.
I've only used them once. They seemed flimsy as hell before I used them. To my surprise they held very strong during my trip. I anticipated them being ok for moderate winds and I ended up experiencing pretty strong constant and gusts of wind. Used them in a wide open canyon with a tent tarp(cheap one) and they came out the same as before the 4 day trip. For the price I don't see how these can be beat. Great product.
