Long service life
This design does not have a hinge that can break or loosen up. The ones with a hinge are bad. The hinge can loosen up and make it hard to pick things up, and can also pinch your finger when the opening closes. These are sturdy and should last a very long time. They are a bit shorter than my other tongs, but I'm still happy to use them.

I bought these rings as a gift for my FIL. These are heavy duty tongs. The detail on the wording was great, even cutouts, polished nicely. They are heavy due to how much surface space there is with the tongs plates. He is excited to use them for grilling whole chickens due to their hefty size.
