Ontel Safe and Healthy UV-C Sanitizing Light

I cannot rate the longevity of an item I have only had for 3 weeks. The lamp uses a mercury vapor tube which should not go into regular trash when the time comes for disposal. I thought it would have LED's. It takes a few seconds to reach full brightness. Safety is completely up to the user, so be sure not to look at the light or shine it on yourself. Not sure I can tell if stuff actually gets sterilized, since microorganisms are not visible to the naked eye.

Brand new out of the box: I installed new batteries, and pressed the power button, but the UVC bulb does not turn on. The power button has a blue LED indicating the power is turned on. The device even beeps every 10 seconds as the instructions said it would, but the UVC bulb would not turn on,. It was a very low price when I bought it, so if it is a bad UVC bulb - then it is not worth trying to replace the bulb. But if it is the electrical wiring in the device - then poor quality control.I have another UVC device cost a little more but the battery drains too quick, but it at least has an option to use it with usb power cable and that works. I bought this one so I can move it around with a power cable, but it's non-functional. I might not spend time trying to return it since it was so cheap price wise and apparently quality wise cheap, too.

The first one is not worked, the replacement works well.

This thing really works. I couldn't be happier with it. It's literally my new favorite toy. You will find soooooo many things that you can clean with this beautiful divine tool. Things you might have thought (in passing) "i need to clean this sometime" ...and that list grows faster than you can imagine. Well this beautiful thing solves at least 4/5's of that list in the blink of an eye. Every conscientious earth sign/Virgo type person's wet-dream --SOMETHING THAT CLEANS, DISINFECTS, SUUUUPER CHEAP AND SUPER EFFICIENT -WITH (SEEMINGLY) ENDLESS APPLICATIONS. Yes, I cannot recommend this enough! Fun and random stuff i discovered it can be used for: smelly trash can: eliminates a lot of odors that emanate from that trash can, disinfect water that's stood on your nightstand for close to a day: the water then tastes like distilled water, disinfect foam sandals if you don't have isopropyl to do that, disinfect books/notebooks that fell on a dirty floor that you know 'isnt' disinfected, disinfect the mattress, your pillow, lingering smells in refrigerators,--even farts!! Not kidding. It will destroy the fart and break it down, oxygenating it back to hell before any smell can reach you 🤣This thing is a godsend. Also a great bedside pal. Disinfect the phone you dropped, diffuse someone's unwanted gas emissions, disinfect your drinking water and make it taste like distilled water, potentially good as an added measure for disinfecting personal massagers & toys. The applications are TRULY endless. Maybe even bleach your teeth 🤷🏻‍♂️ --(JUST KIDDING 😜) -- tread carefully as it's likely not designed for anything 'in' or 'on' the body and DO be cautious with the light exposure to your eyes. Alllllll too easily, the reflective surfaces that I've passed this over have left my eyeballs hurting from the frequent reflecting off of the surface. So ideally wear special sunglasses for most applications of this miracle wand. The only regret I have is not buying multiple, originally. Hope this helps and gives you some useful ideas.

Operating this item is as easy as it comes. You turn on the on/off switch and the bulb comes on or turns off. After five minutes of use the UV bulb went out and never came on again. I would press the on/off button and blue light on the handle would come on indicating power was on, but the UV bulb is dead. I read everything on the box and the manual that came with it. Returned for refund.

The media could not be loaded.  I've used it a ton to clean things that are too big to fit in my phone cleaner. Great for keyboard and mouse. Just make sure that you hover over for a long duration for actual cleaning. Been using it a ton. Probably have used it for over an hour. It still hasn't died on me. I do have good batteries in there but pretty good for the money. I'm not going to complain.

I use this on everything! My iPhone, countertops, menus when out and even the bottom of my purse after setting it down on the floor. My toothbrush, hairbrush and pillows and pillow cases when traveling. I feel much more confident about using the above items most every day when I can quickly sanitize them as needed. Thanks for such an easy and inexpensive way to do so.

The first one did not light up at all, not with freshly charged rechargeable batteries, and not with fresh alkaline batteries. I was worried that it was my fault because the way the batteries are arranged is not intuitive, but after following the diagram on the battery pack cover, as well as trying every other configuration, I returned this item for a replacement.The second one lit up when I first tried it. This was helpful because it confirmed that the batteries do go in the order shown on the diagram. I only used it for a few seconds, long enough to confirm that it was working. However, the next day, it no longer worked (repeated all steps above for troubleshooting before returning).The third one didn't work out of the box. Tried all options, etc., then returned it with no intention of getting a replacement again. It isn't worth the time and effort spent on my part or the mail carrier's.There was also one which I gifted early on to a COVID-conscious relative, who eventually told me it was not lighting up. I don't know if she tried all the various methods outlined above to get it to work. It was too late to return that one.It's a shame that this item, with so many positive reviews, turned out to be such junk.

It took 2 weeks to deliver but it works as mentioned, it does a beep sound every 10 seconds but the volume is on low side, you might not hear it outdoors. It requires 4 AAA cells to work, they get warm after 3 mins of continuous use, so i don't recommend for long term continuous use, as for whether it actually kills anything I am not sure. It's light and portable.
