Works well
I give this cord a 5 even though the installer said I really didn't need the cords only a hdmi, I'm one who likes everything to go smoothly so if this was recommended for my unit to work the best I was going to get it. My only complaint is the cord coil is very thick makes it hard at times to close my center console when its out and connected to my phone.

Do your research, this cable does exactly what it is supposed to do.
To all the posters that "don't need this cable" you should have done the appropriate research. There are advantages and disadvantages to all the various hook up methods. I used this cable so that I could interconnect the usb port on back of the unit to the existing usb port in the center console via an adapter, used the existing hdmi port for interconnecting a gaming system that is passed through to a rear monitor and used this cable so that I could also use the available media port for app radio and other iPhone 5 apps. Just because you didn't need the cable, doesn't mean it is without application. Plan your system in advance and decide if you might need the hdmi port for other applications and don't care about app radio mode before deciding whether or not you need this cable. Know that the port this cable goes in to is for the app radio mode as well as providing the typical hdmi functions. You may have to do the firmware update provided by pioneer to get the app radio mode to work though on the iPhone 5.

DO NOT BUY if you own a newer (2013) model receiver
This is a rip-off recommendation from Pioneer to set up your iPhone with the receiver. Unless your receiver does not have a regular USB port, do not buy this. Again, if your receiver comes with a regular USB port do not buy this, all you need is an HDMI cable. I got mine from AmazonBasics 2-Pack, High-Speed HDMI Cables 6.5 feet -- Supports Ethernet, 3D, and Audio Return [Newest Standard ]. I have Pioneer AVHX8500BHS connected to USB1 port with the USB cable came with the unit. I bought HDMI cable from Amazon and bought Apple Digital receiver and a spare lightning cable from local Apple Store. My setup works perfectly with iPhone 5s. Please do not get ripped off with this junk from Pioneer.

also cheapy made bad quality, always discounted when driving a little bit harder on mountain. I can't believe with HDMI they don't have any function that mirror the screen on iphone to appradio.... They need to develop new product damn it

Works fine, meets my expectations but longer than I needed for double din radio in my car. Also it is expensive.

Steep price
Pretty steep price but I'm not into jerry rigging, when you do it do it right, otherwise just go by some other tv or wait and save up..... Do it right the first time, or you will have to do it right when you fix
