My 5 year old son shattered his ipod by dropping it, so instead of buying a new one or spending $100 to get it fixed, we decided to try to fix it ourselves. It took me about 40 minutes to get it all changed out.Make sure that you use a razor to get all of the glass and glue out of the edges before putting the screen on the ipod. This was a pain in his because it was shattered so badly in the top left corner (which consequently also severed the camera chip so that no longer works, but he's more concerned with the music and the games). If you don't make sure to get everything out of the corners and the slight rimmed edge, it will not sit straight and will not seal. Learned that one the hard way and had to redo it.Be very careful disconnecting the old screen also, as they will explain in any how-to videos. I simply pulled up a youtube video on how to replace it and it was easy to follow. You'll have to have a steady hand and good eyes to get everything done the way that it's needed to be. As previously mentioned in other reviews, you should probably label which screws go where. There are SEVERAL screws and they are all different sizes. I could see how that would be a pain if you didn't place them out on a diagram or something to know where to put them.This doesn't come with instructions on how to remove or install your new screen, so you definitely want to youtube some instructions if you don't now your way around electronics.

This screen is an excellent purchase. I would definitely recommend getting it, as long as you know what you are doing. There are no instructions included, but there are great videos on youtube. If this was all I was saying in my review, this would be a solid 5 stars. BUT, I gave this three stars. The tools included with this screen are absolute crap. I would recommend buying a toolkit with better quality screwdrivers and metal spudgers (pry tools). The included screwdrivers wear down really easily, which makes you unable to use them after a while. The plastic pry tools also wear down really easily, and they bend after a while. The only good tool is the suction cup. The tools drop this down to 4 stars. I would definitely buy again

I put this on my daughter's iPod after she dropped it a couple months ago. Using the iCracked Youtube video, it was nerve wracking, but everything went well. I'm getting to the age where my eyesight isn't so hot. There are lot's of small screws involved. I put down a piece of tape sticky side up, and taped down the ends. I then stuck each screw down as I removed them in a counter clockwise pattern. Then, I could put them back in the right spot. There are 8 screws and they are 5 sizes. KEEP TRACK OF THEM.Anyway, my daughter is back in iPod heaven with a custom iPod that looks like noone else's.The Home key is a little sticky, you have to press a little harder than usual to get it to go. I don't know if it will loosen up, but it works.

I got this screen and my mom fixed it for me, the only thing is make sure (when your applying this) to map out which screw went into which spot, cause trust me, it matters. Only 6/8 screws are now in my iPod. Also, be very careful when inserting the final screen, my mom accidentally made a small crack on the inside of the screen. Definitely would NOT replace again, took 3 hours, but the quality of the screen is pretty nice. The screen overall is recommended. Color is true to the picture.

This replacement screen was a great alternative to having the screen professionally replaced for $80. My daughter and I watched multiple screen replacement videos on Youtube before we attempted to do this. I took us about 4 ours to complete the entire process. However, you should not attempt to do this if you are not handy, for there are small part and delicate structures of the iPod that can be damaged fairly easily.

I received everything on time, well ahead of estimated time to be honest. Everything works well and it's a good lcd screen. One thing is the home botton. When installing it with the old back of then previous home button it won't click. With out the back of the old home button, I feel it's too loose. Other than that i find this a great buy :)

I bought this screen to replace the one on my daughter's ipod. This was the 8th such replacement I have done (I have became known at my daughter's school as the dad who fixes broken ipods). Of all of them, this screen was by far the lowest quality. The glass is thinner than the original, The button is much thinner than the screen so it sits down lower and feels awkward, and the adhesive strips supplied are worthless. After only being on 4 days, the screen came loose, slid slightly to the side, and when I tried to press it back down it cracked.My recommendation to you is purchase different screen from another vendor, just get a black or white one (these colored ones seem to be inferior quality), and purchase the 3M brand full adhesive strips (the ones that go all the way around the screen, not just at the top and bottom). Also, I accidentally damaged the wires coming from the speaker when I pulled off the subplate. The newer IPod 4's have much shorter wires to the speakers, so be careful when removing that piece.Looked great for 4 days, but all in all I'd stay away from this product.

the screen arrived really fast, and everything worked just fine. it does not come with instructions but youtube has many tutorials. i gave it a three because the adhesive is absolute crap! but it can be fixed with a few drops of super glue gel. also, you have to recycle the black rubber thing for the new home button, since it doest have it. (i also ordered a pink screen from the same seller. it had evrything, including the rubber from the home button). overall it looks awesome and functions pretty good so far
