I love this butter dish. Its super sleek, clean, and keeps butter well.I purchased this to replace my butter bell. While I love having room temperature butter, keeping it in water and changing the water out every two or three days was no longer practical during these covid-fever dreams of days weeks and months that all seem to be happening simultaneously.Instead, I now keep my butter in this butter dish and proudly display it on my counter top for my dogs to see. I love that it comfortably fits a kerrygold block or two sticks. My butter has never spoiled, and I have never doubted that it is sealed.I wish it were dishwasher safe, but its a small thing to wish, as it cleans so quickly and easily.I would highly recommend this butter dish.

I am a Brit living in the US and found it difficult to find butter dishes that are wide enough to fit European style butter in. Typically the American butter dishes are very narrow - designed for the skinny butter sticks that most American's seem to favour.I am able to buy Kerrigold Irish butter at my local supermarket and of course that is twice as wide as the American stuff and won't fit in any American butter dishes. First world problems!I was really pleased to find this butter dish on Amazon and the seller's pictures even included Kerrigold butter.The dish arrived very quickly and looks just as it was described and pictured by the seller.It perfectly fits the Kerrigold butter. I really love that it has the wooden lid and i can scoop the butter out of the dish really easily. I keep the dish on my counter top (not in the fridge) and it keeps the butter at a good room temperature so it is easy to spread.I highly recommend this dish! :-)

This is a beautiful butter keeper, but the bamboo lid mildews (when used as a "wet" butter keeper). Once mildew sets in, I cannot find a way to wash it off because it is integrated into the bamboo wood grain. I tried chlorine, vinegar, ... I should have purchased an "all ceramic" butter dish (for use as a wet butter keeper).Now that I have had the butter dish for a few months, I want to add to this review. I originally purchased the butter keeper to keep a "wet" room temperature butter, covering the butter with water like so many cooking shows demostrate to keep butter from oxidizing. It did not work as a "wet" butter keeper, but I have since conversted it to a "dry" butter keep. It works extremely well when used in this fashion. The bamboo does not meldew and looks beautiful on the table. I also discovered that I could use it as a cheese keeper. Again, it is perfect for that application. I'm upgrading my "stars". I was offered a refund for the dish, but I find I want to keep it for applications that suit it well.

I love this butter dish because it fits the Kerrygold butter without us having to cut it in half. It also looks much nicer and is easier to keep clean than a traditional butter dish. (Greasy dirty butter dishes with bits of dust and things stuck on them are one of my all-time kitchen pet-peeves!) With the traditional style of dish the butter gets smeared all over the edges and base if you don’t close it carefully each time. This butter dish solves that problem! And it looks classy too. Five stars from me!

I like the clean design as well as the tight seal of the top. I can leave the butter out for several days so that it is easy to spread when needed.

I've been looking for a great butter dish for years. I bought the beautiful ones that you lift up and found that they ended up just being a smeared butter mess constantly from my husband and kids. I've bought the upside-down water one that was just not practical in any sense of the word. I've bought the one with the lid attached that flips up which looked like tacky plastic and broke right away. I'm don't even want to think about how many my kids have broken by putting the ceramic or glass lid on with a little too much force.Then I discovered this guy! I saw a picture and thought it was really pretty and organic looking but because of my past experiences, I didn't have high expectations. Well, I've had this butter dish for about 2 months now and it's perfect in every sense. Easy to clean, seals nicely but is still easy to get the lid off, it's beautiful, and it holds a lot of butter so I don't have to cut up packages like Kerry Gold. I will definitely be buying this for gifts!

I’ve never been able to leave butter our at room temp without it turning ranchid (yuck!) until NOW. This butter dish is incredible. A little more work to clean with the silicon ring, but so worth the minor work. Fresh butter that keeps for weeks and is spreadable.I highly recommend this. And I don’t write many reviews.

I usually have butter out so we can easily spread it on toast but my butter dish lid broke :( Just leaving a bowl with butter out got licked by the cats 🤮 so I bought this dish and have LOVED it. I keep it by the toaster with a little charcuterie knife resting on top. Holds four times the butter a normal dish would hold and seals so I’m not worried about cats or dust or anything else that could contaminate it. You’re not supposed to wash the lid in the dishwasher so I just easily remove the seal threading and put that and the ceramic base in the dishwasher and hand wash the wooden lid. Not difficult at all. Love the dish. Two thumbs up would recommend

The one time I didn't read the reviews! Saw the five star rating and purchased, oh well!This does not quite fit a standard Canadian 454g bar of butter. With a fresh butter in, the lid will sit on top of the butter about 2mm up, you can squish it down if your butter is soft. Just remember to squish it down before putting the lid on or you'll end up with butter on the lid like in my photo.Bit of dodgy advertising going on in the images and description considering this is Amazon Canada and the pictures and description say it fits a number of times.Taking off one star for not fitting the butter and another for the misleading advertising.

Not tall enough to fit a pound butter. If you live in Canada, there’s no point in buying this. I’m disappointed because after hours looking for a butter dish, this was the largest size I could find.

Good quality container. Only thing is the butter is a bit to high for the lid to sit on. The butter was frozen. So once it thaws it can be pushed down and the lid will fit snugly

Based on dimensions noted it looked big enough. But I needed to cut a cm+ off the top for our block of better to fit inside with the cover on. Seller should share the interior dimensions with cover.
