A well written concluding memoir
An enjoyable final chapter of Lt Col Lacklen’s career made particularly compelling through his lengthy recounting of his efforts and frustrations with the US military anthrax vaccine programme carried out during he late 1990’s. It has been interesting to observe the authors career as it evolved over the three volumes, particularly with regards to his increasing experience and competence operationally. Yet, despite this he was always quick to point out times when he made mistakes or was otherwise, only human. The book also concludes with a moving metaphysical reflection which characterises the authors combined intellect and romance with life, and indeed, aviation. I enjoyed all three book very much.

Got too Political
I was expecting a pilot's memoir about his adventures flying. While a lot of the book was that there was to much space devoted to his fight's with the Air Force over vaccinations and his personal politics. In the final chapters his yellow man bad rant had not place in a book flying. If had it to do again I would not buy or read this book.

Page missing
Great memoir all around, however I was disappointed to find half a page missing in the middle of the book. Very Frustrating.

excellent book!
Jay Lacklen devoted his life to serving the U.S. in the Air Force. Jay put his life on the line for his country.....He has earned the right to speak his opinions....excellent writing with a very interesting career.....

I enjoyed all three of his books .... until the last few pages of the third
When he started spewing anti Trump drivel. Also, way too much info about his battle with the AF over the injections. I would give this one a pass. Sad.

Decent book until Jay goes into an anti-Trump diatribe based on his literal interpretation of the "Lock her up" chant as unconstitutional.
